i didnt need to do any of that. all i did was update sol and download 1.63 from ilja"s patreon and turn on the rain through the weather debugger

I've updated to latest version of SOL, CSL etc and it looks excellent. I even noticed when driving on a light cloud day, that as clouds passed over
there was noticeable shadowing on track. Also the rain looks excellent.

tried to get this working and broke my game.
It just crashes now with the following:

I hate doing that, it defaults everything back to basic.
Fixed the crash by reverting back to CSP 0.1.72
I had rolled back to 0.1.69 (as in the videos) to try and get the rain working.
Still no rain but at least no crash.

Rain's only in the Patreon builds, latest is 0.1.73-preview1

It took a whole Saturday but AC is back to normal.
And normal will do me for a while.........

I'm having trouble with the patreon preview versions.
When I first signed up I got the latest version, and it installed and worked fine, but I've just tried to update it and CM now says it's unavailable. ???
Have I missed a step to get access to these previews?
Checking for updates doesn't populate them, I have to go to the patreon page and manually download them.
Was I meant to receive a new key to access them?
I'd post on the patreon page (will probably still do so) but as Ilia is a one man operation I'm sure he is busy working on the product leaving little time for 'admin' duties.

A new update has just been posted by Xfab, so you will need to buy again ;).

Preview releases are manual install only. You can go back a version inside CM but to reinstall the preview do it manually outside of CM.
CM then shows it as not available to be installed but in fact it is, as the radio button is ticked, but the whole entry is in grey.

More questions about the rain.
I've decided to try a tin-top in the wet, but I'm yet to get the wipers working in any car (either with the mapped button or the keyboard shortcut).
Do all cars have wipers or just some?
If it's just some, is there a way to find out which ones have working wipers?
Or, is there another setting I need to change to get them to work?

Custom Showroom shows a tick box when an animation file is available, you can test there. Although I believe CSP can also do wipers without an anim' but requires a config to do so.

Something is buggy, I d/l a car that specified wiper animation but it still doesn't work.
Not sure how to fix except to try a reinstall of CSP or a roll back.......

Wiper animations work in showroom (but door animations don't ??? ) but still not in game.
Reinstalled latest preview then rolled back to 91, still no luck. :'(
Guess I'll stick to formula cars (I've always said tin-tops suck, AC's just proving it :-X ).

Edit: just tested @Mahad's CSP wiper config - so much better than my clumsy blender animation (regarding bending wiper blades). Just ignore the car_wiper.anim in the archive.
Update: the CSP wiper's pivot point is off center which can be seen from the outside view. I keep the blender animation for the show room and the CSP animation in-game.

That leads me to believe there is another check-box somewhere in the millions of options that can be checked.
There's a public holiday tomorrow, so I'll have about 8 hours to individually go through every single option and setting in CSP & CM.......
And if that doesn't work I'll have to wait for the next public holiday to go through and edit .ini files in a process of elimination.

Bacchulum, for me, in game select "Sol Plan Selector" from side menu then select Rain, then down the bottom there is a checkbox for either
auto wipers or manual. In manual you can then select the speed. I use auto, and sure enough when the rain arrives the wipers start.

Are you referring to Rain FX?
That is active.
Is there a FAQ, troubleshoot, feedback forum for CSP?
Maybe I can find a solution there. :-\
