I am thinking of doing  a short season to help me ease into it :)

Probably be 4 races at  vallelunga club, t78_hockenheimring short 1 or 2  , Magione, and a longer final race at  Tor_Poznań.
The car I am still thinking about, whatever we run I want to try a fixed setup season, so can just drive, maybe the abarth 500 just to be different.

Any suggestion on a car is welcome.

One thing to keep in mind is the "theme” of Thursday night racing. Is it focussing on older cars? Slower cars? Or is it anything goes?

I would like to see the focus remain on  historic content ,both cars and tracks be they fast or slow.

I have tested both these cars, I can drive the Jag but I get checksum error if I select the Gordini  :-\. I have installed the MP patch. I drove the Gordini offline and I think it is very good representation of the car ,would be great fun in a race if you can control the rear end. The Jag is fun too.

The Jag is fun to drive and with you on the Gordini, it feels like the real thing, and with the default setup, I think these would be just what we need for some close racing

Yes both the Gordini and the Jag, it was good timing, rooshooter checked also, he was kicked in the Gordini but okay in the Jag.

Found this link to a Austin Healy 3000 mod, I have never ridden in or driven one of these but
it seems pretty good to me. One more car for a historic meeting, to add to the Alfa GTA, R8 Gordini,
Caterham and Broadspeed Jag.

The Peugeot 504 is pretty good

Austin Healey 3000, something wrong with it, my car position was all wrong and  had to set it and it spins wheels in every gear for a top speed of 180 which it gets to in half a straight with the longest gear, unless that's what these are like ?

Porsche 550 spyder  is awesome, especially theS1, going to do season 2 in this I think,

The Albert park track is good (enough). Finally, a reasonable Albert park version to play on. Tried the new Formula 3 V2.0 mod. Pretty good around this circuit.

The lotus thing looks good but doesn't have original physics. Sounds like a Lotus Eleven and physics are sort of generic mod - perhaps slightly modified Formula K? Not worth driving compared to Porsche. I think the guys who build good mods have the original car's technicals specs to feed into AC.

I liked the 67 track in rFactor, not sure on how much time you have, but it would be a good addition, espesh when we do "The Great Aussie Historic Series" :)

We need all the group n cars modded, now that would keep me rather happy...

I was going to suggest keeping the BTCC track list for another season and just changing the car selection. So we can start collating a shortlist of cars for next season.

We could also open up the track list. Perhaps people could nominate a track replacement? ie nominate a track to be replaced in the BTCC list and then nominate which new track should replace it.

the m3 has the cornering but the cobra has the top speed. both have equal acceleration from 0-100 but the cobra cant pull away too much from the m3. I'd like to test it on the server with more than just the 2 of us though to see how it goes.

I have had fun with other various car match ups.  Some require ballast added to one car to make the racing closer, but on average most are stock.. 1 cars strength is the other cars weakness and vice versa.

This is the RUF yellowbird vs the mercedes SLS. I ballast did have to be added to the RUF as it had a bit more power and top speed.

Another mix is the Lotus Exige S and the BMW 1M @ spa.. very close. (looks to be the standard 1M)

To add to the mix of the M3 vs cobra you can add the Lotus Evora S S2 to have 3 makes..I tested both road cars against the cobra and the evora seemed even closer to the cobra for speed.

There was another car we mixed with the Mazda MX-5 cup.. I think it was one of the abarths..

Just tried it and it worked for me. Have you fixed whatever was wrong?

I have to say, it is pretty cool. You see missing content for the server and Content Manager asks if you want to install missing content and then you can install automatically with just a click.

EDIT: However, ended up getting Checksum error when connecting so perhaps version mismatch?

Cool, Thanks for testing.
That old chestnut; 'I thought I was wrong once but, it turns out I was mistaken.'

New upload includes the data.acd files which I hope solves the mismatch.

See above for my Google Drive where I think you can just download the data.acd files from within the main .zip file. If not or if download speed/bandwidth is not a problem just redownload the whole thing.

Cheers.

Yep. Worked for me. Note that the "link" icon didn't show - just the search icon. However, the "Install missing content" button displayed and worked.

Is it possible to set this up for Thursday server? That would make it really easy to get everyone loaded wit the same mod versions.

I've got versions of the car and a very similar track, currently receiving revisions.
8) ;D 8) :-*

So I thunk it's a 57 Chev so I put in the biggest engine Chev made in that period, but than I noticed it ran slicks so it must've came from a lot later than '57 and just uses the body.
So I widened the track and stuck those wheels outside the guards like a good modified should, also explains how this car can have an independent rear end.
Beveled the mirror and air cleaner so it's not such an eyesore, reversed some text and replaced the tacho. And the collider is as forgiving as I could make it.
