Thursday Nights fun racing / Re: Season 14 - WORLD DOMINATION SERIES
« on: June 02, 2018, 10:51:27 AM »

You need to nominate which car you want GW.

...

Also Seanus, I seem to think you said there was a version of this track with drive through bollards at the chicanes.

Yeah it's not compulsory to nominate a car but if you do each week then Phil can make sure there is an extra one for you.

And Roo' the OP and race thread have the correct link to the improved track. Members better check they have this version.

Thinking out Loud.

For the third race rolling start I can call out the order based on all time stats that Wally keeps. After the first race of the season proper I will base the order on Championship points.
We can start off and go very slowly whilst the order is sorted out. Once we are in order we can speed up to an agreed speed, then when the last Discord user inline can cry out 'Ready' at which point if anyone is not ready they can say so. Better to stay silent if ready to avoid confusion, so unless the caller hears otherwise he takes it that everyone is ready. Some time after the ready call the last in line will say 'Go Go Go'. This can happen at any point on the track we don't need to wait for the start/finish line. To prevent the caller having an advantage he and only he is not allowed to overtake anyone until the next apex from his call.

Got another checksum. Sorry to do the Phil but can you remove all the 'data' folders for the cars on the server.
I've got my server running and so far I have found all that is needed is:

server/content/cars/example_car_1
server/content/cars/example_car_2        ;and so on for x amount of cars
server/content/tracks/data/surfaces.ini

So the checksum is done on surfaces.ini but none required for the cars unless a data.acd file is present.
Whether it's AC or sTracker, one of them seems to trip up on something if the car has a 'data' folder.
When there are data.acd files the checksum gets done first and you can't even connect to the server, unlike our troubles where the message comes up in red after we have connected.

Damn! Sorry. Took so long to upload a fresh version I forgot to update the links.

Group 5 Generation 4 Compilation

Group 5 Patch

silly question, but do we need to register anywhere for this or just turn up on the night?

Nah. Just make sure you have kept up with all the updates and jump right in the deep end.

Dave O, can you join my server with the M1?   It's named 'G0D Testing'

1088
.... BMW M1, & Porsche 930/76 k2g5....

..... Nissan,s central mirror & steering wheel not showing in cockpit for me....

Yeah the Nissan is not really finished yet. :-[

@Phil.8 Could you please delete the 'data' folder for each of those cars from the server. i.e gr5_porsche_935_k2   &   gr5_bmw_m1

The M1 seems to working now.  :D

I have had to redo the links to my G-Drive so if you could update the OP please Phil.

MASTER

PATCH

Members will need both MASTER and PATCH. But no need to redownload the MASTER if you already have it.
Every time I add to the PATCH I'll mention it so everyone can keep up to date. PATCH also has a time stamp so you can keep track that way.

Oh. All the DRM cars are there plus a further BMW 320, the Ferrari 512BB LM, Nissan Bluebird and Kunos' 935/78.

It was No Grip member Newbert who had the problems and I dare say it was a case of PEBKAC.

1092
Are these cars the same as the drm mod? haven't had a chance to try these out yet

Cars are weight for engine capacity as per FIA reg's.
Tyres, both graphical and physics are sized for engine capacity as per FIA reg's.
Tyres use compound and construction from Kuno's 935\78.
Tyre blankets set for only 50ยบ
Power is scaled to weight, using an arbitrary algorithm.
Aero drag is scaled to weight so the lower powered cars can still reach a decent top speed, using an arbitrary algorithm.
Wing(s) drag/lift is the same for all cars however the placement matches that of the model. Each car will have a different aero balance.
Gearboxes are free, you have 46 numbered gears and a couple of dozen diff ratios to choose from. Each car has either 4 or 5 gears as per real life.
Brake torque is scaled to weight, using an arbitrary algorithm. Max pedal should lock-up at most speeds as per real life.
Steering ratios are scaled to wheelbase, using an arbitrary algorithm.
Fixed colliders from DRM mod as they didn't work with 'car radar'
A few low res textures tweaked.
A few models tweaked, back faces, unneeded things etc.
Disc glow added.
Real names, although accuracy is not guaranteed.

All of the above is still a work in progress and subject to change.

Will run beside the DRM mod if for some reason you want to keep that, such as pick-up racing online.

Well if it ain't fixed by mid week when you trim the servers car count down then it will have to go. But I'll keep at it, it's a long season.

Could it be as stupid as an EOL problem?

Too good to be true, now it appears the M1 is invisible.

Just got my server to run without a 'data' folder at all.
Maybe something you could try Phil?

Delete just the data folder of the M1
\Assetto Corsa\server\content\cars\gr5_bmw_m1\data
