Hi!
I've been looking at getting back into sim racing after a long break. I used to race with the Monday Night Racing guys on Live For Speed until it started going quiet and new sims came out.
I have AC, a G25 and a good understanding of racing rules and etiquette.
Where do I go from here?
Can I race independently until a team picks me up for my skills on the track?
Is it alright if I miss every 3rd Tuesday night? Work roster ATM.
Any other software I need or mods? I currently have no DLC, but I can spare a few coins for bits n pieces as I go.
I'd love to get in on a practice session and learn a bit more about ac and this group if I can.

My small addins
You don't need to be in a team to take part in the racing.
Having all DLC would be a good idea as most of the servers run content (cars/tracks) from all of them.
There are a few pub servers to jump on and race on to get used to that a few of us drive on.
(Search for "XGN Marty FTW") good mix of cars in all.

Some of those servers run MR (http://www.minorating.com/Project) so you will have to improve your rating from N to either ABC to join in on most.

If you are going to be a permanent edition to XGN Marty whitelists your GUID to jump onto his server
(I've been to lazy to do for mine, but I also don't have everyone's GUID as an excuse too)

Anyone can join up, no team required, like Rolz said. On Tuesday nights, we're in between seasons, trialling a few different options before we start the season Tuesday week. You're more than welcome to join next Tuesday's fun run. See the dun run thread. You'll need the Jap Pack DLC and the Modena mod track (download link in the thread).

I'll send you a PM with more details, probably tomorrow some time.

For Tuesday races you will need to ask wally when he puts the application post up to have your name on the grid and that season is in testing at at the moment so a good time to join   Wally will have more info for Tuesdays and I can answer Thursdays for you.

Thanks for the quick responses.
I better get practising again and I'll get on a server a turn a wheel to suss out this ratings system.
Thanks for the welcomes too, and Thursday nights might be best for me until I'm confident enough to race with the big dogs on Tuesday. Shouldn't take too long.
