S15R7: Mugello Race Chat
« on: February 14, 2017, 11:17:11 PM »
2 x 16 laps at Mugello. Last round of the season!

You will need the OSRW PIT MOD if you don't already have it. Unzip the download into your Steam assettocorsa folder.

It is going to be HOT. First race is air/track 30/38; second race is 37/51. You may need to experiment with your tyre compound choice to suit the conditions.

Penalty Ballast (45kg)
Dave O
Kcender87

Success Ballast
Diehard, 60 kg
Grat, 45 kg
Matthew111, 45 kg
Wally, 15 kg

Although Diehard, who is currently leading the championship, has 60 kg of success ballast, he has a 28 point lead over Joe in 2nd place, which is probably an unassailable lead.

Between Joe in 2nd and Mael in 5th, there's only a gap of 11 points, so there could be some jostling for the final season podium between Joe, Phil, Grat and Mael.

Sometimes it's very hot in Italy ;)
The 51 comes from the "real track temperature" setting in the server manager. You set the weather conditions, time of day and air temp, and it tells you what a realistic track temperature would be.

Maybe the practice server should be set to race two conditions, being the more extreme of the two. ???

I know, I'm just psyching him out. I need 28 points more than him!

If we're changing he damage % let's change tyre warmers as well.
We don't need them anymore as I haven't seen irregular graining without them.
Isn't that why we started using them?
Let's bring another variable into the racing. ;)

I don't see any problem with Bacchulum's proposal. Though at this point I would do it for next season. Of course I would keep it for an F1 season.

By the way, it looks like online races now do not end abruptly and you can drive back to pits at the end. Sounds cute. Especially when we'll race with street cars and we can honk at the winner :)

Yeah, apparently they gave improved the graining, in that graining can now go DOWN after a while.

I'd only start it next season or in the fun runs though.

Graining should go down.
When the rubber warms the graining gets worn off and fresh, un-grained rubber replaces it.

In the Michelin/Bridgestone wars in F1 graining happened early but was a phase to get through. ;)

I understand the sentiment about changing the use of tyre warmers after the end of the season, however we're already changing from V7 to V10 tyres mid season too...
