I will be away this week.
Not looking good for the Shorty again anyway :)

47
Gonna be a long race, with 3600 laps. :o
Man that's a lot of refuelling for our Shorty  :o

48
The following drivers have a 15 second post-race time penalty:
Freezer
Bacchulum
RussG
Hahah - all Short Tail drivers.
I don't have a penalty ;)
We penalised Shorty drivers will be doing our darndest to make up 15 seconds on you then  :P

49
At turn 1, Russ drifted wide across the track on corner exit and bumped Phil off the track, causing him to lose positions – penalty.
Bacchulum collided with the rear of killagorilla, sending him off track – penalty.
I also take from this ruling that the "stay on your side for turns 1 & 2" rule is now obsolete?
Rules is rules: "don't deviate from your side of the track in the first two corners to reduce the risk of hitting someone beside you".
This is fun  :o ;D
So, from the Bacchulum ruling, I read it that Phil collided with the rear of RussG and sent Phil off track, but with the RussG ruling, killa deviated from his side of the track and hit Bacchulum .... LOL. Honestly I didn't even know that there had been any issue until I saw I had a penalty.
Stay strong Wally  8)

Qually went good. I had a better lap going but it messed up at the last chicane. The lap I did was still good enough for second  ... phew, but there was no hope of getting near Matthew's time which I assume was 100% boost for the whole lap in the Long Tail.

Looks like Jeremy select 100% boost in the Long Tail at the start and blew everyone away to jump from 7th to 2nd at T1, upset my mojo and I ran Phil off tarck ... haha
Then I was easily faster than Jeremy over a lap but there was no way to pass so Matthew eased away in front. I tried a bit too hard and made a couple of small mistakes and Jeremy got a small break as well.
About lap 9 Jeremy went off over the hill at the end of lap and I was released. I pulled Matthew back in from an 8+ second gap, then the pit stop .... yawwwwnnnn - you go to sleep in a Shorty pit stop.
After the pit stop, Matthew was 30 seconds ahead due to needing to add a lot less fuel to go to the finish, so it was game over for the Shorty.
I decided to just cruise to the end, but then as so often happens, lost concentration and made a few mistakes, and with a handful of laps left Mael was right on me. I knuckled down and got going again, but Mael also had good pace at the end and I was really chuffed to hold him off to finish 2nd.
Great result for the Shorty that I didn't think we would get at this track, but due to some others misfortunes (looking at Shayne), it came off  ;D ;D

Thanks all for the racing and disappointed that Freezer had the incident at the start as currently I see him as the main Shorty threat  :P

Hahah - all Short Tail drivers.
Won't matter at this track anyway as I think we will be lapped twice again  :o  ::)
But with the same penalty we can keep alive the battle of the Shorties  ;D ;D ;D

Only one thing I can say about that - Harsh!

52
If you're doing 15s Phil, I DO need your setup!

Damn... I wanted to practice last night but I decided to watch the F1 first but fell asleep watching it at 9.15pm  :-\
Your F1 dedication is lacking Joe  :P

53
will be interesting if the mazdas stand a chance now. russ was so much faster through the corners last week and the only way I could keep ahead was accelerating out of them
Remember that the Short Tail loses 20 sec per pit stop compared to the Mazda.

I see you found some extra place Phil!
How? I'm 3 seconds off the pace :(
For a start:
Phil =  Soft tires & 0.7% fuel
Wally = Hard tires & 12.7% fuel.

Surely that will account for some of the time.

54
I've only just reset the practice server to 1.35 x fuel, so if you've done fuel calcs based on laps prior to now, please re-check.(you'll be able to do 1.11x more laps on a tank compared to before).
Cool, I guess the Short Tail can one stop now  :o ;D

I think we Short Tails will just have our own little party I don't see much hope of challenging other cars at most tracks. But I don't care, I love driving this thing :)
I also like driving this car but I think we might need to look at dropping back some of that 50% restrictor to get us in the mix.   There's plenty of long straights ahead :(
Yeah, I might drop it down a fraction, or Seanus suggested a little ballast to slow it down in the corners and not in the straights.
As a matter of interest, how much faster is it without the restrictor? I've only driven with restrictor.
From what I've seen, the Long Tails seem about the same through the corners, but can blast it on the straights ....

It was an interesting race.
I had an problem in qualifying. Messed up my first qually run.
On my second run, Able Archer came out of the pits as I started my hotlap and blocked me. I forced my way past, then he used the Merc power to blast past on the straight and block me again. I backed off and thought I had left enough room in front, but caught him again on the next lap.
Third run I only had time for 1 lap and thankfully got in a decent one, but there was more in it.

Racing got off to a decent start and I settled in behind a bunch of Long Tails. The first few laps Seanus was poking the Merc nose up beside me but I gradually fought him off. It was looking good - I expected the Long Tails to ease away and leave me to settle into a rythum.
But ... then the Long Tails went bumping into each other and I wound up battling with ab for half a lap until he opened up the turbo and moved ahead. Unfortunately this had let Seanus catch up and he blasted past as well. Trying to get power down quickly on the straight I lost the rear SLIGHTlY, but it was enough for Phil, Freezer and Joe to cruise past.
I was heaps quicker than Joe, but there was no way past the Mazda as it just romped away on the straights. So I pitted as soon as I could fit the first stop fuel (60L) in and then got some free track and put in some decent times. I jumped Freezer in the pit stops but the Mazdas were gone since they only need a thimble of fuel at the pit stop.
After the second stop I came out behind Able Archer and was losing 2-4 seconds a lap with Freezer closing in fast. I made a mistake trying to get past the Merc and let Freezer through. Now it was his turn to get balked by the Merc :) Had some nice door 2 door action but didn't get through. That's when Matthew appeared and got in the middle of the war :( Then it all happened - Freezer got up the inside of Able coming onto the straight, Able got too much right foot, lost the rear and ran into Matthew. I passed Able there and Freezer had a slow entry onto the straight so I gathered him up and we went into the final turn side by side (nail biting stuff), but I had the inside, so got the best of it. Meanwhile Matthew was only just in front and had the rear step out and come back in to hit me. Lucky the hits mentioned were all very minor and no real damage done.
But here I was in free air again and showed some of the pace the Short Tail had and put in 1:57's for the last 3 laps with Matthew content to sit in behind. He blasted past on the straight on the last lap as grat had caught us up.

I think we Short Tails will just have our own little party I don't see much hope of challenging other cars at most tracks. But I don't care, I love driving this thing :)

PS: Looking forward to getting on the same bit of track as Freezer in future races and having some ding dong  battles

I'm happy to leave the cars as they are ... but looks like the Short Tail will need 3 stops at Sebring.
I'm using 9.68L per lap. I'm calculating I will need minimum 305L to finish. Full tank = 99L, so 3 stopper or fuel saving.
As ab said, the main thing in this series is really about your class. All I'm aiming for is to be at the pointy end of the Short Tails. It's just fun to drive  :D
That's interesting, in my own testing I was using 8.7l per lap. Have you changed the gearing much from default?
Had to change the gearing quite a bit. With default it never got out of 4th. I also find for some reason I usually use a bit more fuel than other people. Would like to hear from other Short Tail pilots.

Maybe we can add a new rule; if you're being lapped by a C9 (especially kcender), you're allowed to try and take that car out?  ;D
An Ocon clause? :P
Bahahahahahahahahah

If you are up to date with CM (App version 0.8.1865.34943), Restrictor is available in Practise mode, not just Hotlap mode.
Make sure you set temperatures and wind the same as the practise server.
