Forced pit stops would be good for practice. Not a big fan of the new pit app but it maybe a bit of practice would convince me otherwise.

For a more strategic racing another league tried the following with the Lotus 98T by limiting the fuel and forcing drivers to choose between higher turbo boost and fuel economy. Quoted from the official forums.
Quote As @Mogster said, 100% (or anything above 70%) is for qualifying only. 813

Barbagallo I've done lots of laps with the old Mod Mazda there and it suits the car well. The Mazda needs a smooth track surface, really disliked bumpy tracks. Plus a lap is only like 40 seconds 814

No accidents, no mistakes, some strategic choices and good, close racing. Good summary of my race. Lucked into a good setup early on so knew a clean run would result in some decent points. Had great battles with a number of drivers including Joe, Jeremy, Nith and Shayne to name a few. With Freezer also getting some points even after suffering technical difficulties, it turned out to be a good race for Maki Engineering. 816

And I do - due to lack of practice. It almost feels like I'm back to playing iRaping. It must be my driving style then, which is why I did not vote for the VW beetle! 819

Without the right setup its nearly impossible for me to stay on track. 820

Good start for Maki Engineering, hopefully DA Racings's woes will continue
Race 1 started well but had to get out of Nith way at the long double apex corner, saw him approaching at a great rate of knots in the mirrors and got out of the way rather than risk a collision on lap 1. This caused me to lose a spot or two. Hell bend on revenge I set after Nith vouching to make him pay! Unfortunately he was just too quick and revenge would have to wait until race 2. Race two a couple of cars came between me and Nith to foil my revenge but I persisted. Then lap17 it all changed. A small mistake from Nith at T2 unsettled Kcender, who proceeded to test the tire cones resilience while allowing me to fly past Nith......revenge 821

Turn 2 through to the chicane needs some decent commitment to getting close to the bollards to carry good speed through there, and they don't move if you hit them! The latter part of the track is killing my laptimes, the last corner I find especially fustrating. As for the bollards after extensive testing I can without doubt state that they are made out of reinforced concrete. Will be leaving a bit of a margin of error during the race 822

Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: Supercar fun run post-race chat« on: March 07, 2017, 11:54:56 PM »As much as these cars can be fun to drive, I wouldn't say they're fun to race. 5 laps is a warmup not a sprint and certainly not a race. I agree I'd take a race car over a supercar any day.I don't think the front tyres would be fairing to well with more than 5 laps...! I found the Nissan's performance dropped off rapidly the last lap or so, not sure I would have lasted in a longer race with GTR. The RUF is for me 825

Dangerous question, lets just stick with a resounding NO RESTARTS ON TUESDAYS!!! |
