General Discussion / Windows 10 upgrade over windows 7 home
« on: April 14, 2017, 07:06:30 PM »
updates have not been installing for a long time
I can't upgrade Team Speak because "api-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dl" is missing and will not install
I have attempted to upgrade runtime dlls and now AC will not attempt to load any track combo, on or off line
I have verified my installation and about to 'sideline' this current installation and re download, but.,, this will not fix the bigger problem,

so where from at the best price to install/upgrade my valid Windows 7 Home?

Thursday Nights fun racing / AC 1.13 Update is now available and
« on: March 23, 2017, 10:51:08 AM »
of course the servers are now not recogising the protocol :(
Good news:
Multiply Player:
- Added reversed grid races: The race session will be restarted in reversed grid order based on the standings of the previous race. Players disqualified in the first race will start from the back of the grid in the second race, regardless of their position being within the reversed grid range.
- Added locked entry list in pickup mode: same as in booking mode, only players already included in the entry list can join the server (password not needed).
- Added car Steam ID sharing in entry list: each car in the entry list can feature multiple GUIDs. Players can share that car (one at once). The name inserted in the entry list is used as driver name.
- Fixed server result log not displaying invalid laps.
- Fixed end-of-race session status for lapped players in lap races.
- Added Mandatory Pit: A pit window can be added to the race session. As a design choice, players need to stop at their pit box within the pit window to have a valid pit stop. Players with pit boxes further down the pitlane need to take this into account before deciding on their strategy. Players may make additional pit stops before and after the pit window, but only making a mandatory stop in the indicated pit window will validate their race. Server admins must decide on a pit window that allows all players, regardless of their pit box position, to comfortably make a pit stop under normal racing conditions.

May 3rd was mentioned...

The magic of Porsche engineering was at full chat in the early 1950s when the upstart sports car company revealed its remarkable and groundbreaking flat-four engine with four overhead camshafts, two per side.

Designed by Ernst Fuhrman, the complex engines were small in displacement but mighty in high-revving output, and they quickly earned Porsche the reputation of a giant killer on international race tracks at the top of the competition game.

The 22nd annual Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance in Florida honors those unique racing machines March 12 in a special competition class of Porsche 4-Cylinder Giant Killers, featuring a display of such four-cam-powered cars as the 550 Spyder, 718, RSK and RS60.

“The four-cam, the 550 Spyder and the 718, is where Porsche’s ‘giant killer’ legend begins,” Bill Warner, founder and chairman of the Amelia Island Concours, said in a news release. “We’re honored to have the 1960 Sebring winning RS60 confirmed for the 2017 Amelia. This is one of the most important cars that launched Porsche on its current course earning Porsche its reputation as a ‘giant killer’.” Read more...

News / Bob Jane's 1963 Jaguar E-type Lightweight goes to Auction...
« on: December 14, 2016, 01:07:00 PM »

With just 12 examples constructed in-period, the E-Type Lightweight is rarer than Jaguar’s C-type (53 built) and D-type (71 built), as well as Ferrari’s 250 GTO (39 built, including three 330 GTOs). E-type Lightweights don’t trade hands very often, but next month an Australian championship-winning example, said to display less than 4,000 miles on the odometer, will cross the auction stage as part of the Bonhams Scottsdale, Arizona sale... Hardware & Reviews / Need a laptop for my daughter...
« on: October 06, 2016, 02:36:05 PM »
Well my daughter's laptop, my old gaming laptop... has finally given up the ghost!

I need to purchase a replacement, although I would like to purchase her a Macbook Pro, I don't think my budget will stretch to that generous a purchase...

It is for home use, no gaming, just general use for a young family, and info appreciated.
