You're probably wondering why there have been no race videos from me for a while. I was originally using Sony Vegas Pro but it has started crashing constantly and I'm lucky if 1 out of 8 times trying to render a video (2hrs each) it might work without crashing and finish rendering for me to upload.
So I trialed Adobe Premiere Pro through Adobe cloud. This trial ended 2 weeks ago and I simply cannot afford $22-23 per month on a disability pension just to make 4-8 videos per month. I did think about asking for donations of $6-10 per person as a once off per year to help with the subscription fee and If I got enough to pay half of the total 12 months cost then I would happily pay the other half. But I don't do this for money. I make videos because I enjoy doing it and I want others who race in them and those who don't to enjoy them, and in hope that it advertises XGN because it's a great place to be a part of.
I'm currently looking around on ebay to see if I can find an older version of Adobe premiere pro that's affordable. But if anyone has any suggestions I'm open anything.

Finally some cooler weather and some actual sleep so was up to making the video of the final race with the praga. Just a simple quick one. Will resume a better format once the season begins.
Enjoy in 1080p@60fps

I had to ditch sony vegas pro after too many crashing issues trying to encode videos, plus I wasn't happy with the encoding capabilities. I am now using Adobe Premiere Pro. I only got a copy tonight on trial to test so this video is missing any text on the bottom bar for cams etc for now.
The encoding has dropped from 1-2hrs from sony vegas to 30-45mins in premiere pro with better quality and the same filesize.
Thanks Phil for an awesome season and to all who participated.
Enjoy in 1080p @ 60fps

Thanks for the replay Marty.
I decided to just do Race 2 this time, so much content to cover with 2 classes. Hopefully I managed to get a fair bit of the action.
Added a different starting grid screen. When league seasons begin I think I will do it like I have here and add the qualifying times under the cars.
There's a fair bit of GT2 action as there was only a handful of Porsche 919s.
Hope you enjoy it. Make sure your settings in the video are on 1080p@60.
I've been doing some laps on this circuit, I think its a quality done circuit. Don't think it's in this forum yet as being tested.
I've been toying with some ideas to try and bring down the time it takes to show members qualifying positions before a race for the videos.
So far I've come up with a neat way to display your car and qualifying times as shown in the mock up image below. But I estimate you would need at least 5 seconds to view the qualifying info each frame (minus 0.6 of a second for fade out/in to the next frame) so times that by say 32 cars and you have used up 2.6 minutes to view the info. 3 seconds viewing time you're looking at 1.6 minutes.. but I don't think 3 seconds is enough time to read 2 members qualifying times, remembering that you lose 0.6 of a second between frames. So unless you're only skimming it briefly, it's going to take up to 2 minutes or longer depending on cars .
I could display the qualifying information over the course of the first lap which is tv camera views only. I only start cockpit views on the second lap. But that doesn't seem right. And personally I don't want to read qualifying times when I'm viewing the opening lap.
I do like the way this looks graphically, although it takes up more of the screen that the previous bar, I could shrink the height of it a little more, but not too much or the cars tend to get too small when resized. Doing it with the black background means I don't have to do any fancy editing to each car for each race, just resize the car image and place it in the video timeline. Placing the car image on the original bar looks shit tbh and too small.
Open to thoughts and ideas please.

Thanks to Marty for uploading the replay for this and for the new edits to allow me to use cam angles to capture the action better. I even tried a moving camera down pit straight but the ghosting issue kinda ruined it so don't think I'll do that again.
There's now an camera grid walk, I think it's a bit slow, but it's either that or too fast grr. It adds an extra 40 odd seconds to the video unfortunately. more in-car cam angles and I did some static cams around the circuit that were different from the defaults. I'm open to ideas about the grid walk, and if there's any other cam angles you'd like to see that are static, for example, blimp view etc, please let me know.
I've upped the quality and I think this is about right. I'm still getting the ghosting and I'm going to be playing around with some other encoding formats and hope to fix it.
Phil got plenty of love in this

I wanted to do race 1 but due to the 1gb limit on replay filesize my race 1 is missing lap 1 out of 11
Some good close racing in this.. playing with bitrates until I find the right quality.. this one's not high enough.
Encoded in 1080p @ 60fps.

Lots of action all over the track between the 2 classes, was hard to try and condense it down. The quality of this one seems a little lower than the others as I was testing some settings, I think I prefer the previous settings and quality.
This is just race 1.
I was going to put both races in the same video but decided to separate them. It appears this video has more blur/ghosting, not sure why though as it's the same settings as cadwell.
Award goes to humper for the best stunt of the race
Rendered in 1080p @60fps, looks good full screen. Make sure your youtube is set to that when you press play.
So much action, and even tried to trim bits out, it still ended up to be a 20 min video. I hopefully managed to cover most of the race battles and passing maneuvers, along with plenty of lock-ups and spin offs.
As for the ghosting and blurring of cars in my videos, I've noticed it happens in the replay file, but when lowering the quality and rendering it becomes more apparent. Youtube does have a stabilizer that kind of helps remove some of it. But doesn't look like there's anything I can do about it as its in the replay file from Assetto.
Enjoy it in 1080p @60fps full screen and turn it up
