Before he got sick we were working on a car of mine one time and the exhaust was off, he said it is absolutely compulsory to start the motor with no exhaust, just headers.

I didn't argue with him at all and eagerly started it up, the excited cheeky smile he got staring at the motor while your ears bleed.

When ever I take a exhaust off a car or a bike I start the engine, give it a rev or two and think him.

Hello, I have finished emptying my bank account into a new rig, is there any leagues around running ACC? Things have changed quite a lot in trying to find leagues etc. It's all about discord and FB now ;D

Hey Wally,

I thought I might pose the question as you have spent a little more time with it.

I have a t500 as well and Im deciding between the Fanatec DD or the Cammus

Upgrade wise, worth the money to go direct and is that much better than Belt?
Hi there lurker Glen!
Yes, I think it is well worth the upgrade. I'm very pleased with it. You get a lot more detail, more so than the strength, I think. I've never liked really strong FFB. You probably can go a heap stronger with DD if you want to, but that's not where I see the benefit. It's the finer, more consistent detail you feel. Especially in ACC - the wheel is constantly moving a bit with road effects (pure, not canned), and for the first time I could feel the ABS vibration in the wheel, for example. AC feels a little different, it just sort of feels "cleaner". Hard to describe a feeling. Maybe it's because there's next to no damping in the wheel, so the FFB just kind of feels crisp.

The only downside so far, which a lot of reviews mention, is that I occasionally feel a tiny bit of a slip or a clunk in the wheel when the FFB changes rapidly from one side to the other. Apparently that's something to do with the quick release mechanism, and an easy fix is to put a bit of tape on the wheel shaft inside the release, but I haven't even bothered with it.

Yes starting to lurk  ;)

Thanks for your feedback Wally, good to see so much activity at XGN. I miss the sim racing community.

I think choosing brands isn't going to be whats best, but more of whats available :(

A wonderful service, a lot of people all sad to say goodbye. Good to see so many people support his family just by being there in such a hard time.
Here's a few photo's of Bruce, the last two he quickly became involved with the Mentone Life Saving Club, involving all his grand children to little nippers and also extending his knowledge to their boats. They even named a boat after him!

With tears and a heavy heart as I type, our mate Bruce passed peacefully this morning, a beautiful man who never put his own illness in front of anyone's well being. Never complained and was always there to help anyway possible.

Finally you get to rest, for ever your mate, Glen.

Hi Guys, a quick update as Bruce hasn't been online for a little bit, Bruce has been in hospital for a little over a week, I spoke with him today and looks likely to be back into home tomorrow morning fingers crossed. I'm sure he will be looking over these forums again very soon. Cheers  :)

my hardware knowledge is old, worked :)

I'm not that old!

I think from memory you have a smaller box, but luck has it I have a really big super duper tower here if you go down the 1070 path.  RX-580 is a nice card to think about if your still running single screen.
