Ive noticed over the last couple weeks my connection turning to crap at peak hours and this is the same with many other aussies on my servers and in the league server. Coincidentally Netflix launched around the time things turned to crap, this isnt just effecting IINET but also optus, dodo maybe others. Australias network is pretty rubbish and the extra load from this has ground it to a pretty depressing state at peak times it seems.

Hey guys Ive made a bit of a format change to my public servers with a password needed. There is a qualy server now which hopefully will get rid of the worst people who tend not to be able to complete a lap.
The laptime needed is 2:06 at Mugello in the BMW m235i which is just over 6 seconds behind the server and rsr record.
Any xgn guys can simply pm me here without needing a lap but Dick Forrest needs to pass the license test first.
Here is a track I have had my eye on for a while, scratch made and really a fun layout once you learn it. Had some timing issues and grid spawn issues in earlier builds but a recent update should have fixed that. I think its well worth a test as its again one of the much better scratch made tracks IMHO.
New in v0.4.1:
-Race at 22 opponents and hotlap Fixed.
-Upgrade texture quality and shaders.
-Pitlane upgrade details.
-Cameras from "Albert McSaltens"
-Gum-balls added (for testing).
-Started external environment.
Found this really good version of interlagos the other day. Road surface feels very nice and there is a grass and no grass version available for people with slower systems. Looks great and drives well, I didnt find any issues with it but we need our special off track testers to give it a proper run. 25 grid spots I think and I tested the pitstops which worked fine in MP.
Download v0.6 from here.
I just came across this, havent tried it yet just dloading it. Quite likely a rushed conversion/rip and its an old model V8 not sure the year, it has the darn rollbar across the windscreen which I never understood why they were about the only series to have done this.

I just upgraded my server from t1 micro to t2 small, I think the issue with people not being able to join was the t1 micro was on its limits.
I had it up last nite with up to 24 people online, had 20 hz to start with and it shit itself with abut 17 people on. I dropped it to 10hz and was ok in a race but people couldnt join.
I tried upgrading to the next level up to see how much it changes it and quite surprised at the difference. I could likely run a couple 24 grid servers on it now once I figure out how to do that.
Before with more then a few people on CPU utilization was at 100% and I just did a 7 lap race with 22 people and cpu usage was only maxing at 25%.
Here is a graph of Server CPU usage over last 24 hrs, would have been a bit quiter over nite but earlier had full grids and pretty much 100% usage all the time.
Here is the Bandwidth in and out just recent with server update and 22 cars at 15hz.
I think a t2 small should comfortably be able to run an ac server with full grids and no issues, I will try more servers later tonight to see how that goes. Be out for a bit but if anyone knows how I could run more then one server that would be quite handy info I wont need to search for elsewhere.
Hey guys here is a cool track I came across the other day, quite fun with street cars and I think its probably good enough to run the Tuesday or Thursday leagues. Well worth a download for a different type of street circuit and surprisingly its actually a real track too.
Ok seeing we still havent got the RC as of yet odds are it wont be hitting overnite.
What will be on tomorrow is testing 3 other mod tracks, here are all the DL links needed.
Race 1 official GT cars at Brands Hatch
Race 2 M3 E30 DTM at Korean top gear.
Race 3 Reliant Robbins at Baskerville. May need to change venue if there are more then 20 people up for the race as there is a 20 car grid limit at this track.
Server will just be using the regular XGN password.
Each race will be a 15 minute qualy and 7 lap race.
First Qualy Session will start at 8pm Melbourne time, Not sure which backward states arent using DL savings but have delayed it 30 min to give those a little more time.
First server is now up "XGN Tuesday mideseason Fun Race nite" and has Mixed GT cars, People can self handicap themselves and cars fastest to slowest are.
GT3 MP4 & Z4
Lotus Evora GTC.
Robins may be 2 shorter races rather then 1 longer one with only 1 qualy session. It may be hard for people to do 3 laps without rolling it so 2 races will give them more chance.
The Top gear Korea race will have a car change as I tried the DTM and it was a little too stiff by default, the track is quite bumpy so will either be a stock e30 or e92 race there.
I was trying to modify the track map so I could get it full screen and see where everyone is when racing in mp. Had no luck but then came across this which may be of interest to others.
Here is my pass on Freezer on the last lap of the last race at Monza, just wondering how others see it as I finished the move with all 4 wheels across the line. I saw the lap before he was very loose through there but I had to check up in the middle to avoid contact and so lost all momentum and had to wait till the same section on the next lap.
As I again so he was a bit loose through the middle and exit I kept the foot in it to make sure I didnt lose too much exit speed, at the very exit I was planning to go inside but then saw his car point left so decided to go right. As I got slightly alongside he then ran wide pushing me off the track but with lots of runoff I just went wide to avoid contact.
Now if its deemed to be an unfair pass I will gladly give my position back to Freezer post race and maybe drop me 10 seconds or so, not that that would give me a DTM for the next round or anything.
There was some discussion about this in teamspeak chat in the Thursday nite races so I will post a link for those using these pedal sets. Highly recommend it as it gives much more feel then the stock springs, may be time to upgrade mine to some load cells but with this I can control brake pressure quite well.
They are based in Melbourne as when I ordered it it came hand delivered seeing I live only a couple suburbs away from where they are.
