I tried the poor man's vr with gear vr, took a while to get it going and then only over heated my galaxy s7
Yeah I have an S7 and it did get too hot over time. I was able to adjust the settings to reduce some of the blur and get it looking pretty good, but the lack of clarity is why I probably won't be using it for serious racing.
I think they might be thinking with super wide monitors available, put in the too hard basket.I've got a 34in uw while it is better than a single 16:9 it's still nowhere near triples, the 49inch Samsung's I guess would be good if you can't fit triples. Hoping the pimax's aren't too expensive.
Anything that gets too ultra-wide will suffer from the same stretching anyway. That's essentially what triples is when you have surround enabled. For GTA 5 I remember I used an app that did some post processing stuff to resolve the stretch on the side monitors and it worked pretty well. I wonder if something like that could work with ACC.

thanks for the links roo. I had a little dabble with vr with my gear vr and some playstation move cameras which worked but took a lot of tinkering to set up so this looks a lot easier. based on my previous experience I'm not sure I'd use it for league races more just for fun but we'll see.
Someone just pointed out to me acc doesnt havent triple screen support as the unreal engine doesn't officially support it. Had a Google and found it has a feature called nDisplay for that kind of thing but it's an experimental feature and recommends not shipping with it. seems we could be waiting a while.

I'm coming for you Joe!! I've never been this far up eitherHey Wally. Nothing against Freezer of course but just wondering how the scoring works when he missed last round. was surprised the points were still so close with a missed round so looked back and he picked up 37 points at imola without being there?Yeah, don't forget that everyone's worst round is dropped.
Race 1 of the season surprised me and I really didn't expect to still be on top after round 2 let alone round 4. No Matthew, Jeremy or Grat has helped, and Phil and Kcender blowing up parts of their car or crashing.

Yep I figured that out afterwards. I usually don't pay much attention to the points as I'm way down. Got lucky this season so far.

edit: actually looks like it's the drop round thing?

Some good close racing for the first half of the race chasing Freezer and Killa with Keith close behind. At nearly the half way point Freezer had a wobble coming out of the final turn allowing me and Keith by, but it did seem like the tyres were going a little and I went wide into the wall on that tight right downhill turn allowing Kieth by.
With Killa, Kieth and Freezer all so close I thought I'd pit and hopefully get some clear space. I was in 3rd and pitted and came out in 5th. I kept watching the delta to the 4 in front wondering when they'd pit and to see where I'd be when they did.. that never happened as they never pitted so the last half of the race was just hot lapping. I just assumed based on the tyres going off on the sprint races we'd need to pit, but I guess they just degraded to a point where they were still manageable

put my pedals back together and neither clutch or accelerator worked... had a small heart attack and took the hall sensor off the accelerator and put it back on and both working... weird
