Started 5th in the GT3 cars having my best lap affected by an LMP squeezing past me pushing me off line. Phil got past me into T1 and I was close behind him for a while. I was getting loads of stuttering which was distracting me and I couldn't see why. My memory CPU and GPU usage seemed normal, but it is a pretty hot evening here so it could be time to update the cooling in my PC. I was also running Z1Dash for the first time with the AC app which provides it additional data so I did think maybe it was that, though I had no issue during the entire practice when it was running.

Had a good chase on Phil during most of the first half of the race until he had a coming together with Bacculum and I was able to get past. Russ was about 8 seconds in front and I spent a lot of time slowly chipping away at that gap when with around 20 mins to go passing LMP cars and his battle with Freezer had me close behind. Russ gave Freezer and small tap and spun himself giving me that spot. I then had some great laps right on Freezer's tail with Russ close behind. I had pace in corners but Freezer made that understeery boat hard to pass.

After several laps like this coming into the last tight hairpin my tyres were starting to go and when I braked I knew I was going to either be very close to, or give Freezer a tap from behind so I moved over to the inside to avoid that from happening. It was in no way a pass attempt, but Freezer took the corner pretty wide. Unsure if it was to give me room as at that point I had the car under control and wasn't intending on going up the inside until I saw the gap. That allowed me to get ahead and build up a bit of a gap to the GT cars behind finishing 2nd in the GT3s.

I'd rather go bigger and keep 60hz. You'll get more fov.

That lg is very tempting, getsa god review as well,   the aoc is also at that price,  I like them both

LG is only 24". Isn't part of your reason to upgrade to go to 27" ?

Hi Wally, sorry for the very late notice, but I have come down with a migraine headache and am in no fit condition to race tonight.

Clearly not fit with the race being tomorrow Rob  ;)

Tricky tack this. Especially T1. Is a challenge to get the right line through the long turns and get the best exit onto the straights. Add into the mix LMPs with heaps of grip overtaking on said turns will make it interesting  ;D

So that little screen just plugs into hdmi ?   I like and think I will get one

Yep. HDMI port and Micro USB for power. I've just ordered a right angled Micro USB cable for better cable management and a M to F USB cable with a power switch so I can turn it on and off. Also ordered some carbon vinyl wrap to cover the box. Still unsure how I'm going to attach it to the base yet. I was thinking maybe something with the screw holes on the front of the fanatec base but maybe just some mounting tape will do the job.

I bought one of these 3.5" screens from ebay:

I was thinking of putting it inside one of the button boxes I plan to make.

It came with a little acrylic case that sits nicely on top of my wheel base though. Think I may mount it there. I need a couple of adapters to tidy up the cables so they aren't coming out the top and side of the box, then I'll probably get some carbon look vinyl wrap to put over the acrylic and will prob look pretty nice!

I just installed Z1 dash and it worked out of the box. You can set up multiple dashboards then have a wheel or button box button go through them.

Not the best night for me. Spent the first half of practice wondering why I was so off the pace before realising I hadn't changed the tyres to softs.

Had a pretty good start but it got pretty busy into T1 so backed off a bit. I was running lower aero which seemed to give me a good advantage on the straights, but it did make T1 a little trickier. Was going along nicely in a pack and took T1 a little fast; front end went light and oversteered into the barrier. I had to wait for quite a few people to go by before rejoining.

Had a little chase on Shameless until I crashed myself again. I had some pace on the start finish straight and was slightly overlapped but decided to fall back for T1 but must have timed it wrong and gave Shameless a little tap but was enough to send me spinning into the barrier again.

After my pitstop I had a good few laps battling with Arron and Rexology. Once I was past them the rest of the GT3s were too far ahead to catch.

Based on zero experience with either 1440p or 144hz I'd say go 144hz. Gut feeling is you won't notice a huge difference between 1080p and 1440p but the smoothness of 144hz will be noiiiiiiiiiice. Of course I could just be talking shit and you should ignore me. Glad you're being the guinea pig here  ;D

Saw this a while ago:

Looks like you could run 3 at 1440p pretty well but won't get the most from 144hz. Guess it comes down to whether you want 1440p or 144hz. I'd be curious what a 1080p 27" monitor looks like in a rig compared to 1440p. I'm also curious how much bigger 27s seem over 24s so let me know when you get yours  ;D

Will probably miss the round as my Daughter has a school disco and will need to pick her up.

Was really good close racing for the most part. Had DC all over me at the start; with that pressure I made a few mistakes and he got by. After that had Shayne and Russ close behind me for the first half of the race. Russ got by Shayne and pitted just after half way through.

I did one more lap and pitted to try and avoid the undercut and DC pitted in front of me. We started to come out of the pits side by side but I could see multiple cars coming down the straight and knew that could end in disaster so eased off and tucked in behind DC to keep the inside into T1. Around T1 was an LMP and Freezer who I didn't expect to see. Shayne had pitted at the same time and was right behind me. Russ was somewhere further back.

Freezer and DC were having a little battle just in front of me and had a coming together with them both coming off. Couldn't really see what happened exactly but didn't look like any one car at fault.

From there I'd caught up with killagorilla and seemed to have the pace over him. I could see 2nd place in the GT3s as a potential finish but with 10 mins to go I spun off all on my own while distracted by an LMP. I hit the wall and had a red front bumper, yellow rear and cracked windscreen. I lost 2 places to Shayne and Russ and was running bout 2.5 seconds off my previous pace. Towards the end DC was catching due to my damage and I was glad to see the end of the race as with 1 more lap he'd have passed me.

Though in the past Wally has from time to time changes the weather on the practise server to match real world weather. That kind of change will mean the start pressures would be different.

Oh and ts, I for some reason still have to regularly reassign my wheel button (still active in ts settings but still needs to be reassigned for some reason), I think it must be fanatec drivers...dunno?
Fanatec driver v292 for cs wheel base v2.5
I had to do that for years, until one day it rectified itself.
Now TS just crashes 2 times before running stably.

Maybe you should consider an upgrade to Win10?  ;D

Will feel nice when all done. Nice clean install running smoothly.
