A central bezel would be annoying, to understate it. :-\
Would be like a modern f1 lol

But sound better.

My debate at the moment is whether to get 3 x 32 inch or one 55 inch tv.

The biggest problem with triples larger than 27" is you need a dedicated monitor stand as a lot of the cockpit monitor stands aren't designed for screens that size.

If you get custom made stands anyway, go for 3x43" 4k philips monitors.
The monitor is big, IPS panel, and if you have the ~2.7m or so space you need for 3 of them side-by-side, you'll have the most incredible setup anyone around here has seen! ;)

In all seriousness;
I'd never use a TV for monitor, they're often prone to picture problems that aren't present in monitors.   3 of proper 27" monitors (1920x1200 not the "full HD" versions) I think are the best choice, and you should be able to find mounts for those, they aren't such a rare setup I reckon.   Plus the resolution isn't outlandish video-card wise either.   (going triple 4k would be somewhat demanding)

But then if you're not concerned about the height, the above curved one is a very nice choice, too, for racing.

I had 2 great races, although I've started making mistakes in the closing laps of the 2nd already, then completely effed up the 3rd and bailed. (jump start, early downshift, spin, another downshift - done it all)
I don't think I'm calibrated for 3 races after a busy day.  I'm getting too tired.

In fact I've qualified with the setup in 'safe' mode as well, bugger (forgot to take the TC off).

Congrats, Phil, great driving mate!

Funny you mention that, I have been thinking about this

Its = to 2 27 inch apparently, which is still less that 3 24s so not really sure if its worth it

Funny thing, I've looked at that monitor as well, earlier.  But the lack of height is a real turn-off for me.

It's not 2x27', more like 2x24"  Check the height; it's only 34cm & only 1080px - although some 27" monitors have this resolution, I think it's way to little for a 27" - and this one, too.
For comparison; my Philips 43" has a height of 53cm.   Now this I can work on :)

If you want to go real low tech, Seanus has a great pre-War mod 8):

Hmm, guess you're right...wasn't well thought through, was it? Yeah, then you'd need special glasses for just this purpose. Don't know if that makes sense.
Well, that's another way, certainly; design the headset so it can be used with reading glasses.
But 7cm is extremely close, there's heaps of people who don't use reading glasses but are off the 7cm mark (see myself, again).
And even if you're good to read at 7cm,  it's probably not good for your eyes to do that for any length of time.
So I don't think designers would opt for that solution.

I think, killa, you can't eliminate the lenses, unless your target market is under 28.   As you age, your eye is going to be way off the 7cm mark.  I know mine is at least 30cm (minimum focus length - when my eyes aren't tired!) and I'm pretty good for my age.

I really like this image of the event:  (I mean according to news outlets this is her when the first image got compiled)

I take street cars any day instead of highly strung racecars, otherwise I'm easy.
Err...so from the selection above, anything starting with GT or LNP gets a NO vote from me

This is one of the really good tracks, nice flow, enough elevation changes and no 40km/h hairpins/chicanes.

I did not dare to drive the races w/o TC, it's too easy to lose it and cause a accident, so I had no chance to stay near Phil.

Had a fun night, and managed to get away scratch-free (as in: I did not touch anyone).  R1 I had smacked one barrier  and got a pretty banged up car for the last few laps; broken windscreen & bent suspension.  That slowed me down a bit.   R2/3 were clean, and grats to Joe on R3 overtaking me and keeping the position!   First I thought I've lost some speed, but then looked at my laptimes and realised Joe gained some :)

I'm in doubt for tonight, at the moment. :-\
I couldn't straighten my left arm last night, so I'll have to pass a "fitness test" to see if it's any better. :'(
Bummer!  Get better, mate.

Well, I'm running a i7-6700k which *can* run at 4.5, but I'm just letting it run on default (4GHz) but this does not matter in this case, IMO.

If you look at thursdays, you guys always run interesting mods.  Now, unoptimised mods (which is a lot of them, tbh) used to cause moderate to severe frame drops in the past.  I'm sure this hasn't changed.

So the measuring stick is a tad faulty, I reckon :)

...My 1080ti struggles with 3840x2160 on my singlescreen ...

That's weird, my 1080 Ti (zotac, slightly oc'd) does not seem to struggle with my 4k screen at all.  Could it be some other factor?  Or maybe your definition of struggle is different? :)

Nice rig, looks sturdy, from most video reviews online sturdiness seems to be one of the most complained about, wish I had room for a good set-up like these.

Hell, yeah.   That was always my problem, too; the space.

Welcome back, GB, hope you'll find some time to race.    I think even with your 6yo setup you'll beat us silly :)

Cockpit, though?  You're really aiming high ,man!

RD download speed seems to be very variable. I reckon they throttle their download speeds only when the load on their servers is high.
Could be.  I was downloading this small file for ~10 minutes :)
In my experience I can d/l files only at around 200kB/s from RD at best.

p.s. I'm on 100/40 fiber with Internode, I have no restrictions on my connection.  In my experience I can use near-full speed at any time unless there's some restriction on the other side.
