Good reviews, nice screenshots, my first 7 laps felt good.
A very interesting write up.
A great, fictional short track which looks good and drives well:
It might be worth getting there early (for those going) to see the Season Launch:
Whether you'll see anything or just stand around in crowd, who knows, but it's free.
Hey Rob, I finally got around to it.
For everyone who likes long tracks, here's a memory test.
72 kms of more than 800 corners.
It's a very early alpha but the road itself is good, just no environment to speak of.
My PB is 44m35.2s in a Toyota GT86 (I've only done one lap (hotlap to make the first one count)).
Once upon a time, a Thursday I believe, there was a discussion between Wally, Seanus and myself about track grip.
I felt the racing line had more grip while Wally and Seanus assured me it was placebo, and the track grip was homogeneous.
To paraphrase, "AC's track grip is not that sophisticated".
I must be missing something or I'm very susceptible to placebo.
Drive the wet version of Goodwood (link below) and tell me the grip level is homogeneous.
That the slippery puddles are placebo.
I still believe that track grip can be variable and therefore a grippier racing line is possible.
Fake Wet layout is included for wet track placebo, don't be surprised that it is so slippery, 1"50 is a fast laptime at Goodwood when it is wet. Use alternative lines to get more grip, optimum lines has less grip. Pretty much first time in simracing when you'll have to search for grip in circuit
I came across this whilst fishing, and thought I'd share it.
It's very appropriate for Tuesday, as the F1 era this year is 73-80.
If you fish at the same pond I do you'll easily find it.
If not, I'm uploading a zip now, but it's 6 hours of footage so that'll take a while.
I'll update when it's done.
I'm hoping someone can help me with my problem, as I'm clueless.
This morning, I have no gear shift in any car, but only online
Fanatec software registers gear shifts, as does Content Manager - Settings.
Everything works as normal offline.
Verified AC files through Steam and rebooted, but still no gears online.
Because it's only online, I have absolutely no clue where to go from here.
I found an excellent doco covering the history of Can-Am.
Some of the extremes even surprised me (9+l V8 in a 690kg car, ON CROSS-PLIES!!!)
It even has insights from the great innovator himself, Jim Hall.
If you enjoy pre-regulation racing (well, almost), check it out.
All American Racers, his wife Evi and the Gurney family issued the following statement:
