What motivates you most in a race?

What's the one thing that motivates you most in a race?

I want to win the race, or finish in as high a position as I can
I want to do well in the season overall and climb the results ladder
I don't really care about results or points so long as I get some close racing
I just want clean racing without contacts
I just want to finish in front of person X

Pick the  "do well in season"and "Close racing" option.

I usually pick a driver who is just quicker than me and work throughout the season to finish ahead of my nominated competitor on the result ladder. So the championship points ladder is important part of the fun for me  :D
That's true actually - I do the same. I tend to look at who is one spot above me on the ladder and then think right, that's who I've got to beat.

Just after close and fair racing.

my main use for the sim is to keep or rebuild my concentration and racecraft for when I get back in my kart. The result makes little difference to me

Thanks for all the feedback guys. It helps structure seasons in terms of points, success handicaps etc.
