I was hoping/thinking we wouldn't need to choose a car, apart from asking one to be assigned us for a custom skin.
Car differences are yet to be fully fleshed out in the heat of racing and some cars may prove unworthy or indeed too good for say the more elite drivers to be using whilst others struggle with lesser cars.

But anyway I'm sure anyone dissatisfied with their car choice can feel free to change it.

Is there any limit on the numbers, or can we all end up in lotus's?

A very rough estimate of possible performance hierarchy;

BT44B, 72E, F101C, and the M23 all have the most horsepower and least weight. 325kW 564kW/tonne

Tyrrell 007 and Hesketh 308 have the same horsepower as above but weigh more however the Tyrell has a lower Cog. 325kW  553kW/tonne

Below all have the same horsepower as each other but ordered by weight, lightest first;  319kW
 Parnelli   552kW/tonne
 Penske   548kW/tonne
 Marches  543kW/tonne
 Williams, Surtees, Shadow, FD03  540kW/tonne
 Hill  529kW/tonne

BRM and Ferrari have the least horsepower and worst power to weight ratio.  306kW  527/9kW/tonne

However all the cars have slightly different suspension layouts and whilst the same aero they do have different aero balances.

Same wheels and Tyres for all.
Cabin ergonomics such as shift light and mirrors all differ.
Sounds there are three of, feel free to change these with CM if they get on your nerves.

No rev limiter. The Redline on the Tacho is max power, damage happens 50 RPM later and the engine won't rev past 500 RPM above redline.(except for downshifts of course)

I might put the lesser Cosworth in the Lotus to discourage that.  :-[

If the numbers go by skins than most cars only have two available some only one. BT44B has six plus Bacchulums.

Maki has two extra erroneous skins, the need to be deleted.

No, everyone can choose what they want.

I was hoping/thinking we wouldn't need to choose a car, apart from asking one to be assigned us for a custom skin.

I'll need to know people's specific car choices so I can assign enough of each type on the grid.
I would prefer if people stayed in the same car, but if people want to change, they can.

Maki has two extra erroneous skins, the need to be deleted.
Which are the two skins?

When I copy pasted a folder to start my conversion of the Maki (missing from the original mod) I left two skin folders behind.
Pace & Reuteman don't belong. They drove Brabhams.
