Tasmania fires
« on: January 29, 2019, 05:34:57 PM »
https://sentinel.ga.gov.au/#/

Suss out southern Tassie from the southwest national park going towards the Huon river, I.E, Huonville, Franklin, Glen Huon, Geeveston  etc,  its bloody huge now.

Where I live I am about 15 min drive from where its really bad and have had 2 days of been able to see what's happening, I feel like I am on the outside looking in, but that has changed again today and back to smoke :(  the ash is driving me insane now lol, its everywhere.

Roads are closed at the Huon river bridge so all the 500 or so people at the evacuation centre cannot get home if they wanted to check their houses south of Huonville.

With about 8 helicopters, A few spotter learjets, a Boeing 737 and a Hercules c130 water bomber flying at like take off height over the house all day it feels like a war zone without the shooting, after a couple of weeks its getting pretty full on now.

Here are some pics,  the first few dark stormy clouds photos are the lightning storms that started all this on the 15th

Tomorrow is going to be over 30 and very windy north west winds and dry air, 3 houses have burnt this arvo, Tomorrow will be the interesting day where anything could happen as it gets closer to towns
Its meant to cool down Thursday,  but the winds will be from the west still which is the worst possible direction, but yeah tomorrow is going to be a scary day

Even all the way up in Hobart they are getting smoke this arvo from down here and visibility is very low in the city apparently 50 km away, news is saying cars should have headlights on at 6 in the evening

Good luck for today Phil. I hope the fires keep their distance.
