Post by: Phil.8 on October 22, 2015, 09:51:27 PM
If I am reading the schedule correctly next week is a bye.
Let me know of any car/tack combos worth a test

I won't be there that week, but GT40s would be fun, I'd think.

Any of the new cars would be good, I haven't driven a single one yet! I bought the update, but then have just spent my time practicing for league nights.

May I suggest Mosport Canada, only 12 pitboxes but should be enough for our league.

Is this the scratch made AC Canada F1 track.  That looks very good:

We should try it, or perhaps the recently released for AC Hockheimring circuit:

No, it is called Mosport Park at RaceDepartment.

I believe once you drive the GT40 around this track you will not want to drive anything else !!!!
I could be wrong but I rarely am. ;D

I won't be home either.  I'm in Wally's stomping ground for work over the next 3 days-  Adelaide.  Such a great city. Managed to win a few bob at the casino tonight but not sure if their currency translates well to Victorian dollars ;)

Should we change car selection to 6 Ford GT40  and 6 Lambo Countach?
They are seperated by about 4 seconds and provide a easy handicap system.
The Countach is the slower of the two.

Better bring some SA currency cos most shops won't accept Victorian money here. ;)

Stupid auto-correct on my phone.  A pub crawl probably didn't help either.

Some great pubs in Adelaide with fantastic beer gardens.  One of them does 1kg of Buffalo Wings for $10 on a Thursday night.  We got there excited for the wings, but then they told us they were sold out. After begging and giving them a sob story of having driven 6 hours just for the wings, they managed to scrape together a basket for us.  Love Buffalo wings!

It was Hotel Wright Street.  Great pub.  I think Adelaide is my favourite capital city.

Well a very belated race report for me  :-[

Race one saw me chasing down the super consistent rooshooter, lap after lap... only to get close enough to read his rego at the double righthander and then to see him pull away again... nice work Denis, WIN #2!

Wally, you made it for the second at least, this race is lost to me, I was getting tired and but a good track for these cars.
See you this week for Cobras!  Thanks to Phil for taking over.

I was in Historic Racing heaven during this race having raced a " Cox" brand slot car GT40 when I was 16 ,some 50 years ago and
saw the real thing racing (not replicas) at the Goodwood Revival in 2010. It was also great to have Flattop on my tail the whole race
keeping me honest. I too was very tired for the second race and a change of cars did not help !
