The console release makes sense from a business point of view. It will make them lots of money, and maybe fund AC2, who knows. I would prefer that they polish up some of the race elements on the PC first, but what I want won't necessarily be the same as their business goals.

Apparently we might be getting MP time progression in 1.5, which would be nice for a little more immersion, to drive on a track where the lighting conditions are changing.

I obviously don't share your optimism, but as an owner of the AC I hope you are right.

That's the kind of thing I want to hear! Hopefully the track temps will change too.

Thanks for the series Wally, unfortunately I still find many aspects of this game frustrating when compared to RF2. I will keep an eye out for one off events as I'm keen to see how they develop it especially alongside what I can only assume will be a doomed console release, but I'm not going to be buying any more content from Kunos.

Quite funny you had to throw in the rf2 comment, also a doomed console release whats the point of saying that lol.

Because it's the truth. I do find a lot of little frustrating things that add up to make a big difference to me. I also think that releasing the game on console is pointless and a waste of resources on behalf of Kunos and I don't plan on funding it any more.

Whats funny about it? I think they have misread the console landscape if they think people will drop Forza or Project Cars to play AC on their Xbone or PS4. I would never have purchased AC if I thought they were going to spend time and resources developing it for consoles when they haven't even finished the PC version of the game.

It's also important to note that I am not leaving the league due to anything other than me not liking the title. I think it's ran really well and from that stand point I would race here again in the future if AC gets better or if we were racing another title.

Answer your question did I marty? Lol

Hey guys, this race falls on my 31st birthday and I have just been told that we are going out for dinner, so I won't be able to make this one.

I have been playing it for the last week or so. Mostly the Formula V10's. I have already replaced all of the Reiza skins with the 2002 teams, it looks great.

I have also successfully put some GSCE mods into Automob without a problem. Although they don't support flat spotting, like the default content does as far as I can tell. I have run the CART extreme mod and a couple of others.

For me it's the open wheelers that make this game, even in rfactor1 Reiza made some of the best open wheelers out there.

Unfortunately I don't think the online community is there for this game yet and it might never be in this part of the world (although it's in early access for another month or so). I did a couple of races on R2P last weekend and it runs fine with a 300 ping just like rf1 did before it. They went really well and there was no warping or anything.

I am really impressed with how much these guys have polished the old ISI motor engine. It's not quite as good and rf2 and I think rf2 has much more potential in it's engine over the half a decade or so.

I think we need single file rolling starts. I race in another league where we all form up on the grid and the leader controls the pace over the first lap, usually 100 - 150km. As they come onto the straight the green is given by the admin, it's normally somewhere around where the grid boxes start, although it's decided on a track by track basis. There is also no passing before the start finish line or accelerating before the leader does, so once the green is given they can control the field all the way up to the line before accelerating or they can go straight away. Cars caught accelerating before the leader are penalised, although it almost never happens these days.

When we implemented this system I wasn't happy about it. I thought we would miss the excitement of a standing start and the potential to make up a spot or two due to slow starters goes out the window and the purity of racing etc. However we have been doing it for a couple of years now and it works well. Everyone gets to start, everyone gets a little bit of room to see what they have under them and the likelihood of cars piling headlong into a minor bingle turning it into a major pile up are hugely reduced.

Like Marty has said above the real joy of racing these games comes from the long run. Whether you spend a few laps working on the guy in front trying to find a spot to make a move or you make a strategy call and hope it nets you a position or two later in the race. With the single file rolling start everyone gets a chance to see what the race will bring to them and get to avoid all the nastiness detailed above.

It would be easily implemented here and I think you should seriously consider it Wally.

I put a further refined setup on stracker Rolz.

Also, I found TC on level 8 or 9 to be best.

Cool - thnx mate - will check it out tomorrow  ;D

How do you get the setups off s-tracker?

I have seen you guys mention it a number of times. I have the p-tracker plugin, what else do I need? Do you get them when you're on the server?

When your in the server and in car not in the pit menu, double click the ptracker app. This will bring up the larger window with server timing/config/setups etc. Go to the setups tab and bere if someone has left a setup for your car you can get it from the list.

Once you have clicked the setup it will appear in your car setup folder but you may need to click on another track folder then go back to the current track for it to show up.

In order to send a setup press the publish button and you can send to an individual in the server or to one of the groups setup on the server. In order to publish setups you may need to dowload the latest microsoft c++ vrc 64bit redist package. But to receive a setup you shouldnt need this.

Once your done inside the larger ptracker window click the ac logo to minimize this and it will just leave the smaller ptracker window.

Thanks  :)

I've finished with my woody, and now its time to bring out Godzilla....!
Skin almost done...

I love the old cigarette liveries!

I did a replica of that skin for a guy in another league I raced in last year. Looks great on the R35

I'm swapping top the R8 for the remaining races. My Rothmans skin is already in the last skin pack.

So what does it do?
It modelled old historic racing cars rather nicely. The original is what got me into sim racing.

Same.

You can get the original on steam for $8 USD

Race 1 was a really interesting battle with Freezer, Matthew and Stan. I decided to pit early (lap 8) and hope for clear air as we were holding each other up. Three laps later Matthew and Freezer came out of the pits pretty much nose to tail at the exact moment was braking for turn one. It was a crazy moment for me and I nearly lost it. I hadn't heard any exit calls and they were on the bit of track I was aiming for. I was able to get around the outside of both of them. I think Freezer could see there was going to be an accident and left me the outside and it worked out thankfully. From there I defended till the end of the race although Freezer pushed me hard all the way. Pretty happy with fourth after qualifying ninth.

Race 2 started off just as intense as race one's finish and I cracked immediately letting both Freezer and Matthew go. The later after a pretty lurid slide through the second last corner that saw me all the way back in 18th. From there I set about being as clean as possible and was able to get up to 9th.

Good fun, well done to the top three. See you all next week.

If your going for longer races I wouldnt go half distance and any multiplier. Full distance f1 races would be quite fun and may get some interest. What is a regular f1 race I think about 300km?

They are 300km plus one lap, although they were longer in the 80's. Bernie shortened them to the current figure for TV, although I'm not sure what year exactly.

They would still be quicker than most grand prix as there is no chance of a safety car in AC.
