Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: Bucket list: future season ideas« on: February 02, 2016, 10:54:13 AM »The whole point for me in mentioning this was doing a full distance race. I love doing races of 90 minutes plus. I think it's the true test of a racer. You don't have to look very far to find people doing what are essentially sprint events.Just a thought from my jet lagged brain. How about a full distance race in the Lotus 98t at Spa or somewhere similar. I think picking the right boost settings for economy will make for exciting racing. I always find hard long races give me the most satisfaction to finish. 17

Inter-League Challenges / Re: "Occasional Sunday Racing"?« on: February 02, 2016, 10:04:41 AM »
Maybe we could do a couple of enduros and then build up to some sort of driver swap/team aggregate racing. The longest race I have done in AC is about 40 mins. I know I can do 120 minutes on my own pretty easily and would like to do something like that before teaming up with people. I think it's more important to select the right car track combo's at this point.
I love the enthusiasm all the same :-) 19

It's all good, we had a great time lucky the area around Motegi is pretty nice and home to a great brewery. I ate and drank so much. You can drink on the street and with it being 4 degrees or less most of the time it's always at drinking temperature. We are lucky enough to friends living here so they showed us around. All I will say is familiarise yourself with Google translate and get A JR week pass before you leave Australia. PM me and I will be happy to share any more info. 20

We went all the way to Motegi to check out the Honda collection and it's closed until mid February. Not a single word about it on their website. I wasn't very impressed. I looked into doing something similar for Toyota or Nissan, but it did not entice me.

I'm leaving Japan later tonight and am due to land back in Perth three hours prior to qual for this round. I don't see any reason as to why we would be delayed, but if I'm not there tomorrow it's because I have been held up somewhere along the way and I apologise in advance.

Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: Bucket list: future season ideas« on: February 01, 2016, 01:54:25 PM »This is mid to later afternoon for me anyway so I'm still happy. You could do it every fourth, third or other Sunday. No championship points so people don't feel compelled to compete every race. If you can be there great if you can't so be it.I really like longer races, but I'd be struggling to make any other night myself. But if Marty or someone else wants to run a Sunday night comp, then go for it. I'd be happy to parse logs to get results etc, if you want it in the Tuesday night format. I'd really like to try some full distance grand prix in the F1 mods that are available for AC. The mod with last year's cars spring to mind, but the 2004 Ferrari and the 1998 or 99 McLaren that are available would also be cool. 23

I'm talking 90 minute plus races. You could start them much earlier than the current week nigh races. 24

Chopping a further 15 mins off hurts me even more. Can we hold this change until the end of daylight savings? 26
Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: Jan 19 - Season 10 Warmup Round: GT3 cars at Vallelunga« on: January 20, 2016, 12:13:10 PM »Same as Wally, I'm bummed why a lot of setup changes don't have a more profound effect on the car (eg camber!) but I also found it amazing that if you dare to put your food down, it comes out of the corners amazingly well, somewhat sliding the rear but not enough to lose it - you just need to be sure you'll not run wide, as taking your foot off the loud pedal just makes things worse, so there's no recourse at that point. I have driven a lot of GT3 cars in a lot of games now and you can drive them pretty hard in most iterations of them. I think they have fairly low amount of power for the aero that they produce. AC is no different, if anything you can drive them even harder in AC, especially once you turn the tyres on. I was applying power well before I got to the apex in most corners and as you say it's about riding that slight bit of rear end instability all the way to the exit. 27

Racing was fun for the most part. Got turned around by Michael F towards the end of the first lap of race one, was a pity too. I left him more than a cars width he still managed to hit me. Could have been an awesome battle for the the final podium position too had it not ended before it even really started. Managed to recover to seventh position, but damage to the front splitter during the aforementioned contact meant I struggled for the rest of the race, especially through turn one and for straight line speed. Had some good battles with Phil, Wally and Bird. The pass for seventh with about three laps to go had Bird and me side by side for three quarters of a lap.
Grabbed the Audi for race two, had only done a handful of laps at Vallelunga in the R8. Was following Bird and Wally again after some close racing with Bach and Rolz. Unfortunately Wally caught the curb in front of me and I couldn't avoid contact. What resulted was a pretty lurid slide that left me on the racing line and in the path of Bach, a pretty spectacular T boning meant my car and my patience were toast. Thanks for the racing guys. Hopefully people show a little more patience when the series starts. 28

I have lived in WA and Vic, both states get them. I thought they were on pretty much all of our coastal plains. 29

I think most if not all of the cars have potential. They all have their various strengths and weakness', and it will be interesting to see how they all go at different tracks.
