another shocker, hate reverse grid, always taken out and hit, i obviously do it wrong by giving people room, time to get the arms out and put up with penalties

Yeah take a leaf out of Grat's book ;)

First 2 races were uneventful and a bit boring. Was 3rd on the grid and in the Skyline so can get away quick and out in front a bit. Wasn't in a position to challenge anyone, made quite a few mistakes and just waited for faster people to catch me. I think I came 9th in R1 and around 7th on R2.

Starting 7th in R3 the fast people got past quickly, and after that had some really great fun racing. Was in a bit of a battle with Freezer and Mael until I gave Freezer a bump coming into the chicane at the end of the lap. Sorry dude, don't think I really accounted for you battling with Mael. That let Slideways and Rob past me, and a few laps later Rob and I were side by side up hangar straight but Rob lost his back end and came across the track with me just nipping through.

After that was just behind Slideways and Freezer, then Wally caught up and joined the fun. Slideways blew his engine at the end of hangar straight with 2 or 3 laps to go, unlucky mate, and Freezer Wally and myself fought it out until the end of the race. Not sure where I placed as was having way more fun than the first 2 races.

Some good fun races here on Saturday night. Didn't get a chance for more practice last night, and won't tonight either but hopefully will run okay on Tuesday. Was in the low 1:18s at best.

Thursday Nights fun racing / Re: Monza Junior Sept the 1st treat!

Another good Thursday for me, it's getting a bit of a habit in these cars.

Pole position for R1, lost a few places in T1 but then had some great close racing throughout. Lap 16 I got a really good run through the final turn and got Phil putting me in 2nd. Final lap I took a terrible line through the last turn. Had it not been the last lap I think Phil would have taken that spot back.

R2 started second from the back and got up into third. Spent most of the time behind Gratulin who really pulled away in the last few laps.

Getting the last turn right was really satisfying, but I didn't really get T3 down at all; tried it with and without braking and made a mess of it quite a lot. I had T1 pretty nailed and that's where I'd close up on people, but then messing up T3 wouldn't give me a passing opportunity.

Great night again.

Monza full is awesome. Monza Jr is...well...not particularly interesting in my opinion.

Not for hot lapping, but should be some good close racing

But i agree the track is one of the better mods, the cliff edge is a shame but by the time you fall off it your race was probably ruined already.

Nah, would have only lost 1 position and almost held it before dropping off  :(

I had some of the best close racing I've had with xgn but as I was starting pretty close to the front i missed all the carnage.

consensus says.  this track is too complicated for a quick thursday round....
the server will have Monza Junior....

And not just complicated, but in the few laps I did there I got totally stuck in a barrier twice.

There I did run into the back of Joe lap 1 t2, he just slowed much more the I thought he would relative to the field but still my fault for running into him.

I'm not sure I even noticed :o

Ended up going wider than I wanted and was being overly cautious about putting a tyre on the grass as I lost count of the number of times I did it pushing in practice.

Race 2: lost control on turn 2 heading into the left hander and biffed Joe, sorry

No worries Bruce. I forgot that even happened when i did my writeup :)

Well what sounded like a bad night for some was the best night I've had all season.

I've found some okay pace in the Skyline; the RX-7 and I did not get along!

R1 going okay in 4th, Bafs lost his backend trough T1 on about lap 4 and in trying to avoid him I want onto the grass at T2 which is terrible place to go off. After that was down a few places. Got back to around 9th I think, then on lap 15 Bacculum went a little wide on T2, I eased off the throttle and got a tiny tap from Matthew which unfortunatly spun me around. He was nice enough to redress and I only lost a few positions finishing around 11th I think.

R2 was also good, held my pace and spent most of the race between Matthew and Freezer finishing somewhere in the top 10, maybe 8th or something.

R3 was doing well again, but half way through the race turned in too early on that blind uphill left, hit the curb which launched me into the air and off the track. Rejoined, but due to being at a different speed to normal into the next sweeping left I missed my turn in and went sailing into the grass. I just dropped off the edge where you can rejoin the track so that was my race over.

Seems I have more confidence now in race situations, so I will sit peoples tail, or fight more to keep position. In the past I was never confident in my ability to control the car enough to do either of those things.
