Caterham is always good fun. The Porsche 911 Carrera RSR would also be good.

I'm confused.. Is there meant to be only historic in thursday fun runs? I wouldn't say there's a lot of cars in assetto that are historic compared to the rest.

We started out on the Thursdays to be Fun, trial tracks and it was the "Cobra Cup", "The Cobra, the whole Cobra, nothing but the Cobra" :)
since then we have moved to Minis, Porsche 50's racer, Alfa GTA and the Escort, to satisfy the historic side of car racing. In the main part, the older cars are liked by many for their historic value, character, (read slidy slidy), slower with less options.

Well I'd be happy to run the ac cobra vs something like the BMW M4 for something different.. I just need to test to make sure that it's compatible.. or I have to find something else.
tbh I'd prefer a season with the cars that are up for testing atm.

There is really only a choice between fast and slow, a mix of the two would not really work. My favourite is Porsche RSR 3.0 next Cobra and the
insane RUF third. Maye be two races one fast and one slow might be an option.

Clubsport V2's. I was saving for V3's, but then these came up on Gumtree at half the price of new V3's and from what I understand they aren't that much different.

cobra is about 2 or 3 seconds a lap faster than the other choice in my limited testing,
so choose wisely :)

I don't wanna ruin Phil's surprise, but as long as he didn't change his mind again by the time I left the practice server yesterday, you'll need the Porsche pack and the Red pack.

I really struggled unless I ran the default setup. I span heaps of times, except for race 2 (default setup) where I managed to keep the car on track and competitive. But like Bacchulum said, I also felt like I had to nurse the car through corners to avoid understeer on entry and then exit oversteer.

I really enjoyed the night in the Cobra, thanks to all the faster drivers opting for the Porsche and giving the slower guys, like me, a chance.
This is the best form of handicapping if it can be achieved , no ballast , just different cars with a slight difference in performance.

Well I had a great night, even if I didn't stay on track for 8 laps. I had been practicing in the wrong cars on the wrong track and the wrong server... but when I did see the selection of cars, a large smile was on my face.
Up until the tyres went off a little in lap 6, waiting and pouncing of the straights was a HOOT! See Wally and I change possies often added to the fun. Certainly the Cobra sounds great, I hope it sounded as good being overtaken! :)
Nice work see the Cobras home 1, 2 in the second race. (forgotten race 1 )
