All the practice I'm doing has started to pay off, I've managed a few 2:15s in the 458 which I'm pretty happy with. I tried the merc yesterday which is fun to drive but my times were quite a bit slower.

I think I finally sorted by GPU freeze issue too. I was using an app called fanaleds to have the LEDs on my G27 working in AC. Once I closed that my freeze ups disappeared. Weird thing is I tried closing it once before, and didn't help so perhaps it's on conjunction with something else I changed. Last night I played a few hours with no freeze up and hoping that continues...

Yeah in the past I have. Last time it happened I turned off v-sync which pretty much stopped it, but I got fed up of the non-consistent fps and turned it back on, then it worked for a while without freezing.

I did some monitoring yesterday while it was happening and the GPU usage drops right down to zero during the freezing. Googling it a few people have similar issues and there was a whole range of things that seemed to fix it for people, so last night I flashed a new BIOS, removed the Geforce Experience app, removed all the MSI bloatware (which I needed to do anyway), reinstalled the old gfx driver from the MSI website and a few other things. Was gone midnight by then and still happening

Tonight I'll play around more with the video settings in AC. I'll also try turning on v-sync from the nvidia control panel instead of AC as I read somewhere people had a better experience doing it that way.

Just want to get it sorted before the season starts! Getting annoyed with freezes then being off the track, or worse a freeze and when the video comes back I've taken someone else out...

Had my first go at this track with the GTR last night. Took me a few tries to get a full lap, the thing is crazy with ABS and TCS off.

What are the requirements for a server. I work for a hosting company and may be able to blag something. What's the bandwidth like when running 24/7?

Was a bit late as my new wheel stand came and I couldn't wait to put it together. Much better than the small table I'd been using! Race was a lot of fun, I didn't crash at least. Still not broken into the 1:40s on this track yet though, am sure I'll get there eventually.

Going to be interesting in a race start with the differences in acceleration between the cars and a flat out first few corners...gulp.

Thanks for replies. It's a NVidia GTX 860m 2GB card, (gaming laptop). Could have been running too hard. Turning V-Sync off definitely helped. Previously I used to run without V-Sync and I pretty much maxed all the GFX settings to try and get to a near constant 60fps. If it keeps happening I'll try turning a few settings down.

Managed to play a couple of hours with a couple of small glitches but no freezing like yesterday. Annoyingly I did a full hour qualifying then AC crashed on the start line of the race. Again perhaps too hot, will turn down a couple of other graphics settings.

Had another run in the 458 but this time turned ABS, traction and stability off which I found make it play a bit nicer. Managed a 1:50.1 which is my PB but still can't break into the 1:40s

I saw that spring mod earlier, is it hard to change? Could be something I'd look into.
