Title: S30R2 - Road Atlanta 2018
Post by: Wally on October 01, 2019, 11:10:55 PM
A dominant performance by Kcender with two convincing race wins sees him well clear at the top of the leaderboard. Matthew111 also made a strong debut in the season, launching straight into 3rd place, courtesy of the dropped round. Struggle Street Racing Crew (Jeremy and Matthew) are also only 3 point short of Maki Engineering.

Race 2
AbleArcher hit me in the rear and spun me – 110 kg penalty ballast.
Captain Slow came into a corner inside DaveO too fast and lost control, hitting Dave off track – 110 kg penalty ballast. It then triggered a comedy of unfortunate errors between Dave, Rob, myself and AbleArcher that saw us off the track all over the place.

2 sprints of 21 laps. Weather is going to be pretty warm: 28 and 30 degrees. Maybe the super softs will get too hot? Dunno...

Hey Guys, I asked this over Discord the other night, but now I'm going to make it official.

Does anybody know how to turn off the darn headlights on the Nissan? I use CM and have the Shader Patch installed, but being a bit of a Luddite I can't for the life of me see how to disable those annoying lights.

Thanks.

Go into settings then controls, then select buttons (top right side)  Lights are on right side, map a button then you should be good to go. If that doesn't turn em off, you're probably screwed as they don't turn off..

CM settings..then select Custom Shaders Patch then Lighting FX and turn Brightness down to 170%...will reduce all ,over bright lighting effects, but still looks good.

I turned the light intensity down too. Even the blinking lights in pits would light up the whole world far too much. The effect is overdone.

Ah thanks, there must have been a track update since we used it last. I'll update everything to the 2018 track.

OK, the track on the server has been updated to the 2018 version. If you already had Road Atlanta, you'll have to re-download the new version from the link in the 1st post.

Race 1 was OK. A bit lonely in the middle, but then Bueller hunted me down.

Race 2 was  :-X . I got hit in the rear at turn 1 and sent flying. Last. Half a lap later, I got caught up in DaveO's spin back onto track, where his car went slowly thisaway and then janked thataway, with me hitting him under brakes and hitting the wall. Last again. That didn't put me in a good frame of mind. Then all by myself I had a few offs over the rest of the race, ending up with broken steering for the last few laps, being lapped.

Enjoying this series, sequential shifter heel and toe, not as necessary as I first thought but adds to the immersion and realism lol. Not putting too much pressure on myself helps me to be a little more consistent even though still a fair bit off front runner pace.
R1. Starting from the back so to not unintentionally upset potential champs and just get out there and have fun. Traffic was a bit tuff at first and gave AB1 or Able a tap on the rear, no incident but got a little damage, sorry for that. Some major stutters occurring for me which stopped in the next race after closing FANALAB Software, I was using only for added light effects on the wheel (traction, pit, flags), needs optimisation I guess. Caught up with Wally only to go off on the last turn looking at the dash, checking to see if was the last lap.
R2. Excellent race AGK on my tail the whole time and getting on the tail of a couple others was awesome, caught up with Phil but had no chance of passing.
Good fun, curb hopping and sliding around thanks guys.

Two 3rds for me.. why did Matthew have to come back  ;D

I could do close to kcender pace in practise on the odd lap on the edge but doing that pace consistently in a race requires some skills I don't have.

Race one about a 2 to 3 sec gap to Matthew all race with us both on a similar pace. Race two a similar story but much closer though no real opportunities to pass. The high ping and car moving around did make me nervous; was a point I probably could have passed when we hit a back marker on the final turn but didn't want to risk a warp and not finishing at all. Good fun though.

Yeah, same. He cost me a position.

Both races went the same for me. Decided to go with SS as I could not stop the front from locking up with the harder compound, and needed the extra grip to keep up with the other drivers. What I did not expect was the benefit of the starting line. If there was space to pass I would have been in the lead before T1! From there just tried to hang on to the end, race 1 Jeremy kept me company but with only the 9th fastest lap I was quite happy with a 5th place. Not sure what happened to Jeremy in race two but he's troubles meant a 4th position for me :)

Team mate should be back next week, meaning team Maki will dominate again.

Hope you are OK Dave.

If its any consolation I had quite a few bad turns last night as well, in both races. ;)

But seriously, I hope all is OK.

Good fun to be back in the v8s, bit of work to do in setup town it seems kcender was way off in the distance, maybe zb parity adjustment is needed :P haha
Sorry about the lag joe no idea why for that race it went up.

I noticed i had a blank skin maybe because someone else had that skin, so i put a different one into the dealer, the black and gold randle car. I put the full skin title in the dealer if thats how it works

You just put the name of the skin folder, nothing else. E.g. 2018_015_R12
