I won't fiddle with the track any more. This time I had left half the grid facing the wrong way!
I was also trying to get the bloody great car killing 44 gallon drums to be moveable but I couldn't figure it out.
Again unless anyone finds a major flaw I won't touch the track again this week to avoid checksum mismatches.

Phil, I updated Croft yesterday, The link is always up to date but please double check the server is running the latest version.

...then I pull over to give Seanus room a lap or so later and get forced into a wall for doing the right thing. Won't be doing that again...

Take a look at the replay. 100% your fault. Don't get me wrong, I don't 'blame' you, but as above please don't lay blame on those who don't deserve it.

...being spun a couple of times by Seanus...

Yeah, the first one was my fault, just caught you too quickly as you were stuck behind someone else, sorry about that.

Second one, I was very dissapointed I wasn't given some racing room but again, sorry for punting you off.

1311
...Sorry - I should have seen you on helicorsa.

No Worries. :D

1312
..I was in a ding dong battle behind the heavier cars of Phil and Diehard, with Freezer in chase....

:) I guess I was invisible. Perhaps explaining why you ran over my nose before the second to last corner?  :'(

1313
...and it still looks like a tag from the rear to me.
Let the punishment fit the crime. There was sod all to that incident, neither purposeful nor negligent. The aggrieved party didn't spin and lost only a few places, the guilty party redressed, and said driver hardly needs to be made an example of.

I don't want to enter an argument, I just felt I should let RussG  know he is not alone.

Binned it twice, without which I may, just maybe have been able to catch Wally. First spin I came out of the previous corner too! well and ruined my line, the second one I was distracted looking at others' gaps and times and missed my brake point. I have a bad habit of still bashing down the gears even when I've overshot my brake marker and lends me to spin. I noticed this fault in my spins and later in the race kept my wheels in line during the ding dong battle for second place.

...my MR rating was dropped down to C in the middle of doing practice on my own !!!

I'm having that happen again and again myself. I would have thought a simple rule to prevent a drop in rating would be in place. Because we seem to be doing most of our racing only at XGN we end up with 1000km and no contacts so for some reason that counts as a C rating???
The quick way to get back to an A rating is to go on to a server and promptly run into someone, thus getting a contact point and raising your ranking ???

1316
....did I misunderstand and you mean the practice we have right before the race?

I meant both, on and offline, Practice server and Race night, it can only help.

But my main idea was to have this on Race night as offline the AI suck and doing it solo online, while useful, misses out on all variables that make the first lap tricky. I do do practice starts on the night, to check first gear and clutch point etc. And god I nearly had a heart attack last week when I qualified on pole. "'Where and how do I brake for the first corner on cold tyres with 27 other drivers nearly as clueless as me right up my arse?'"

It is problematic that AC takes so long to count down to the race.

PS: Stupid spellcheck thinks I spelt 'tyres' and 'arse' incorrectly!

PPS:  :) I said 'do do'   ;D

....practice starts in real racing either.

Perhaps they should, seeing as how often the first corner of a race is a fustercluck. Mostly politics but also the exigencies of real life prevent this from happening but as a Sim does not need to, nor necessarily, follow real life I propose such a policy could help.

1318
....If it's a practice race.

Ah ha! That reminds me of an idea of mine, as follows:
During Practice the server should be, at suitable intervals, cycled to a Race so everybody gets to practice that. i.e. a start. Half a lap or so and cycle back to practice.
We spend X amount of hours on the Practice server during the week then an hour on race night followed by twenty minutes of qualifying then straight to the race where an incident such as tonight's throws all that preparation and expectations out the window.

"train of thought,,, must improve laptime, tweak springs, dampers, pressures, wings, brake points, et al . qualified well now concentrate on a good start and...... oh fuck where do I brake for the first corner? I've never been here going so slow before and how do I know when that car in front is going to brake? oh shit! crash!!,,,end thinking"

It should also be good practice for, anyone who chooses, to also do this offline as well, so as to get familiar with braking points from various grid positions and perhaps how to run side by side for the first part of the lap.

really enjoyed myself this round.
the first group on the right, on my count down for braking.  Seeing what I thought was right group 1, was actually right group 2!

I stuck to the right down that straight and waited until my tangent lined up with the spectators on the left.
At one stage I counted two whole seconds between other competitors and my brake point. :o

Completely surprised by my Pole, I hadn't really practised here. Seems the 908 lacks power but its lightweight lets it rocket out of the corners. Race one was straight forward, as long as I didn't lose concentration, the one or two times I did I was lucky enough to learn how late I really could brake into some corners. ;D

Race two, starting last all was going fine until 'humper' took me out going into the Stadium, which at the time I wasn't too concerned with. :-\ However after watching the replay I realised I was already in third and would have easily won the race, so now I'm super pissed. :'(
Kept going knocking out 2:01s and after Wally held up Bacchulum I only just missed the podium by 45 thousands of a second. :D
