There's a certain sense to what you say. The problem with Amazon servers though, is that someone has to put their credit card on the line. I leave the Tuesday night server up for as short a time as possible - a few hours a week. If I were to forget to shut it down after race night, the $$$ would rack up fast. If you let two admins share such an instance, one of them would have to put their credit card on the line, and I wouldn't be comfortable doing that. It's also relatively cheap doing it this way. It's about $15 per month roughly to run the Tuesday night server, if you bring it up and down. A reserved C3.large instance, which the Tuesday night server is, would be $1345 for 1 year to be 24x7.
I agree that a permanent XGN server for practice (and maybe doubling for Thursday night races) is a good idea though.

I still havent run a lap lol, I was going to today but ended up getting busy on a nords server in the ruf and f40 so that was a track I know I like so tomorrow nite I will check this one. Has anyone tested if pit-stops work, if there are issues id still propose either Nords or Luccaring for a substitute. At least I know those to tracks

Keeping it fully open just makes it messy at times and people dont want to have to practice with random muppets but most regulars on my servers are fine and some may jump on here if they run with more of you guys.

We might have raced at Road America in the Cobras once upon a time, from memory.
This track just feels to me like it will produce some good racing in these cars, with the corner radiuses.

Saw an Alfa GTA on the road today. At least I think it was, looked like it, but I'm not fully clued up on my old alfas.
there are Giuilias and other base cars that the GTA was derived from for racing... all nice looking cars, don't get hooked! Expensive hobby at that level
I see plenty of Guilettas on the road. I saw/heard an Alfa 4C once - it sounded wicked.
