Humpy Progress « on: September 30, 2013, 03:42:43 PM » Although I have only had the humpy since 1972, it does at time need some work from time to time . This is one of those times. Now that the exhaust is as it should be, I finally getting to do something about the paint.Started taking the offs-pray that I stuffed up with a couple of years ago... 2 Pak should be treated the same as spraying enamel, so I found out the hard way.I have rubbed back most of the body with 2000 wet and dry, and now need to concentrate on the strip, and prep up for a thin white strip one each edge of the centre, "go faster red stripe". « Last Edit: September 30, 2013, 03:48:11 PM by Flattop » Logged "I refuse to be what you call normal." I thought 2pac was finished straight off the gun. Logged Bruce Global Moderator Hero Member Posts: 3440 Karma: 76 "Look out, I'm comin' through!" I thought 2pac was finished straight off the gun.Normally if you spray it correctly it is great off the gun, but if you spray it and have a very windy day that blows the off spray under the masking and is sticks to the duco, you have to RUB IT OFF So it has other "Battle scars" and cracks from shrinkage, thought I would smarten it up a bit.(the red is 2pak, the rest is duco) Logged "I refuse to be what you call normal." I had a S series Valliant at one stage which I spent thousands on, but had to let it go when the family came along. Some at least, ex-motor mechanic, but our S series was our family car for a time, between Buicks. Also invested in the family with sale of cars over the years, 1935 Ford V8 Phaeton when land was needed and 1938 Buick Special for school fees. Paid off Logged "I refuse to be what you call normal."
