Title: HistoriX 1.96 February Muscle Month Season
Post by: Bruce on January 09, 2014, 06:27:17 PM
I am sure you all aware that the latest update to the Fantastic HistoriX mod has been released and once again allowing us all to enjoy an eclectic range of classic, historic vehicles that have always been a core for sim racing.

With this in mind and also with the fact that many of the vehicles in the HistoriX have yet to be used to their full potential...

HistoriX 1.96 February Muscle Month Season

Practice: Live Race is available: http://rfactor.liveracers.com/Live/?server=!%20XGN%20!%20Muscle%20Month (http://rfactor.liveracers.com/Live/?server=!%20XGN%20!%20Muscle%20Month)
Race Night Practice: 19:00 HRS Daylight Saving Time
Qual: 20:00 HRS
Race 1: 20:30HRS
Race 2: At a civilised rest period from Race 1.

The server is set to:

We want to ensure all finish, unless you take it over a fence! ::)

The Tracks... Download Link https://www.dropbox.com/s/rbyzhddpthg8oxp/XGN_Historix1_9Season_Muscle_Month.7z (https://www.dropbox.com/s/rbyzhddpthg8oxp/XGN_Historix1_9Season_Muscle_Month.7z) You may have these already?

They don't handle like a factory Porsche with a tricked setup, they handle like the car you get from the show room floor, the car you learn to drive and love!

This will follow on with the "March Mercedes Month", which was put together earlier last year, but we didn't have the opportunity to run and celebrate the 60th Anniversary of these giants of racing...
More to come as we run through the "least used classics" in our garages.

Hi Bruce,  you had a typo for start time of race one being 22.15 so I changed that to 20.30 for now...

Nooooo!

I was just gearing up for my big comeback. I've been looking around for some historic racing and this looked like just the thing. Does this mean that the March month of HistoriX will also not go ahead?

Hello strangers,

Humper has been on my case to come race this season, i was just about to dust off the hyper.....

It was going to be touch and go as we are in the middle renovating so finding space to setup the hyper requires a lot of work moving furniture and boxes. I think i'll keep finding space hoping that something changes...

Nice to speak to you all after such a long time.

Howdy guys, welcome back. Great to see you guys again!!!!!!!

Well we cancelled as we had no interest but.... we can still run the season as planned now we have some runners. I tell you Steve it's weird mate, I saw Humpers reg and thought, hey thats cool to see a old member join up and then thought, I wonder what Steve is up to these days and here you are.  I lost a lot of phone numbers with a phone that went to the bottom of the bay a couple of years ago  ::)

Good to see you both here and we shall resurrect the season.

Morning boys,

It's like we're getting the old crew back together  ;D All we need now is speedy and BJ and we have the start of some fun times.

It will be very difficult for me to get setup for the 1st race, i need to move so much furniture and try and organise space.... Then i need to remember how the hell to install everything...... I have forgotten it all  :-[

I even had to sign up as a n00b as my old username wasn't recognised!!

I am really looking forward to this again, it had been in the back of my mind when we started talking to the architect about the house plans, i was thinking... ooh the hyper could go there.... And when Humper sent me the email, everything sort of clicked and i really started looking forward to some nights like the good old days :)

server is back up, the same old password, i will pm just in case you need refreshing.
Just sort the server names, you will see the old familiar "XGN" in the mix,
If you need assistance with the install... I am doubting that, just give us a hoy.

I have just driven to Humper's house and picked up 1.96 :)

Everything seems to have installed correctly but i notice that as soon as i touch redline the screen tears badly from side to side... anyone else get this?? I am only using a keyboard at the moment as there is still much to do to get the hyper setup, as i'm in auto mode the car must hit redline to change gear  :o

Not sure, can you explain tears, maybe check your left and right view button selection isn't doubled up with something else.. Does it look like a graphical rip or?

Oh yer, reason for new accounts is we didn't get rid of any ones account, we had to start over with some different software.

Hi Glenn,

it looks like very rapid L R head swings, no key mapping, only happens when red line is hit, lasts for about 5 seconds then returns to normal...

I have pulled my PC apart so i wont be able to do further investigation for a while...

Hi Steve ,

I would de map your left and right keys as a starting point, pretty easy fix to try first up. If anyone else has any issues (excluding Jeff) just post away  ;)

BTW we have some extra stuff, a server viewer here, which not only gives live broadcast but retains all the previous lap records and speed etc etc in the lead up to the round.

It does, each car drives well, they have there own strengths and are very forgiving with all having one thing in common that a setup change can't fix.... no brakes  ;) which should encourage some overtaking.

Loving the fixed setup. Less to worry about.

Any tips on which car has an edge?
Cars selection thread seems to be locked and I'd be interested to know what others are peddling?

As for cars, I liked the AMC for the fact it has the bhp and the highest steering lock.

I found the harder i pushed the more i suffered.  Brake early and line up the corner and you really want to be over 50% throttle by the time you hit the apex. If you can't do that you have gone in to hot. Just waiting for someone else to come along and blow my time.

I took a slight detour on the way to work this morning, i dropped in to Hyper and picked up a new USB interface, it is killing me listening to you guys chat about the mod and me sitting at home unable to participate, so it shuld be a busy night setting everything up, hopefully you'll see me on the server tonight :)

The new owner of Hyper is a nice guy, i'm going to book my pedals and wheel in for a service and upgrade....things are getting serious now  ;D

He runs rFactor in the race centre, maybe some of us Melb guys should book a night...????

Sorry my cheap microphone is broken, when you said you could not save the ini it is due to installing a administration. You can start any app,  notepad fur this job, from the menu with a right click and run as administrator.
Sorry I could not contribute but you got there ant way.

Hi Bruce,

my user account has administrator rights. I just modified the ini and saved it to my desktop, then deleted the original ini and then moved the modded one into the rFactor folder :) Now the rFactor wont run! I see the HistorX 1.96 splash screen..... then nothin....  >:(

When rFactor boots the first thing it checks is the config.ini file. If that is wrong then it will shut down with out notice.

Do another lite install and copy of the config.ini file and click yes to over write.

I tried a few different cars, the only one i can get into the 25.XX's is the Javelin, so if you can't beat them, join them.....

I can't believe how unfit i am, after 10 laps i'm stuffed, i can't believe i did a few 161 lap stints around Bathurst in the good old days.

I have spent an hour on the server this morning hoping to find a different car to use, the Chev was no good and i couldn't get the dodge close to the times of the Javelin. I then grabbed the Cuda and did about 6-7 laps in the 25's ;D

I then jumped into the Javelin again and cut a 24..... Bugger it, looks like it's definitely the AMC

Guys I wont be able to make tonight I have to drive to Adelaide after work as my dad went into hospital this morning to have a bowel cancer removed ...hopefully all good will be back on track next week

Well done on your finish last night to Bruce (GO TEAM MONSTER ).....I got caught up in a crash with Bradc and Wally  lost a few bits off the car  trying to miss them ...car wasn't real good after that tried to push on until it blew a front tyre
and spend nearly 2mins in pits  pushed hard after that and had a big tank slapper out of le rouge  with ripped the front wheel off and I think every spoiler on the car ,was going to try and get back around but at the rate the faster cars were lapping  I didn't wont to wreck some one's race

Hope all goes well with your dad's op, see you next week.
Yep made it home, bad luckon thebdamage, one advantage of being slow, over  all not that much fun, in the main lapping around, getting scared by very fast approaching cars from the other classifications and I was well out classed by the likes of Freezer.
My hands were so sore after all the laps and Arthuritis. ..
