Title: wheel & pedal free to a good home
Post by: Bird on March 05, 2014, 02:23:32 PM
I'd like to offer these free to anyone on the central coast (posting would be a bit too much, these are heavy items!)

- An A1 pedal set, fully working. .
- A working, but somewhat damaged Fanatec porsche gt3 rs2 wheel

The pedal needs a cleaning, maybe new pots, it's sometimes playing up a bit, nothing major just so you know.

The wheel has one broken force feedback motor, I've been told (it's rather choppy - altho still usable) if you want to tinker with it, you may be able to restore it to full working cond. with the right motor - I could not bother with it, and Fanatec does not have spare parts in Australia.

if I don't get any takers in a week or two I'll post it on ocau.

It sounds like you're hanging up your hat on sim racing! Or are you getting completely new gear?

nothing fancy, a fanatec gt3 rs (same as the old wheel) and it comes pretty much with a free pedal (their base one)
I held out until I had time to test it.  Now it seems decent enough to replace the aging A1 set, I'd like to give it away - as it's still working & all, just as the old wheel.

I had a row with fanatec support, as the wheel arrived DOA (not in a working condition, dunno how it passed QC) and I had to email them a lot to get it sorted, took over a month, and finally they somehow did not refund me the shipping cost, as well as they forgot that I've had an offer for free shipping originally.

I've mailed them I dunno how many times, tried to get them to action, but only promises came out of them, even that was scarce.

So yeah, this will probably be my last fanatec gear, they suck balls.

I might be interested in the pedals Bird, my G25 ones have been playing up for awhile.

I live in sydney, so I can cruise up to the coast one weekend. Let me know.

Well, it's still here, so it's yours if you come and pick it up.

We're usually at home around midday (my daughter sleeps ~midday to 3pm) thus that is my preferred time-slot.
Send me a pm when you'd like to come, I'll give you a phone number and an address

p.s. if you want to come around outside of these times, then I'll need to check the schedule with the wife for the weekend :)

Fuck me, they make me remember, can't help it.
The joke continues:

One of the screws fell out of the bottom of the wheel, and it looks like this:
http://imgur.com/a/TJHFl#wlE7cND  (if it's not clear: the ridge is flat on the silvery part, and the end is slightly damaged, too)

It has clearly been forced in mindlessly - and now it can't be put back either.

Fuck fanatec, fuck them with a fucking telephone pole.  All of them.

They've apparently sent me emails from their magnificent system, but I'm apparently receiving about 30% of them, only.  Great.
And they blame my spam filter for it (there's no spam filter on the account I'm using with them)  What a bunch of fucktards.

Never ever, ever, EVER again will I touch a fanatec product, not fucking EVER!

I had a broken G25 and sold it on ebay for $50. someone is always looking for parts. I've got an old Act-labs RS if anyone wants it. (just cover postage).
