Very freaky... but is that petrol or elec?
I got a feeling that it is petrol, notice no one in there! Boy are there going to be some accidents with that.
but I remember when self filling was coming in, the petrol companies said it would make petrol cheaper! hahaha

No. It's a Tesla - full electric. They will use these at their charge stations which are free.

I just saw this video, Melbourne to Sydney in a Tesla using tesla super stations. Not the same automated ones but seeing a full charge is actually about 1hr and the guy needed 3 stops and 14hrs to make the 900km journey. I think id pass even though the journey using these stations is free its not a car youd want to do long drives in. Tesla claims 500km range on the car but clearly it wasn't going to do that on this test.

Not 20 minutes either ;) but I did see a top gear special a while back where it was 12hrs or something like that with an electric car plugged into regular power points.
Shame the tesla isnt using true tesla technology, such as his wireless energy transfer towers.

Still, it is quite, the road is now good and we do have more time than we think... the pace suits me :)
And thinking back to 7 gallon tanks, I needed to stop at least 3 times to refill the FJ on a trip to Sydney, (on crap roads too, I digress), and the cost saving for often interstate travelers looks good to me. (It is just the environmental footprint to manufacture and deliver the cars to the show room, takes a LOT of getting back compared to mantaining an existing car)

Lord Drayson has proposed induction charging via coils in the road, so effectively you can charge up every time you stop at the lights.
Don't know how there'll charge ('scuse the pun) for that though.

Well, if you had big ass magnets under the road, you could charge via induction while moving. This will not give you 100% efficiency, but it could probably extend the range of cars quite a bit. Not sure how well your electronic devices and metal things would react to it, though. :)
