Hardware & Reviews / Selling old Fanatec stuff« on: July 29, 2023, 02:09:22 PM »
Selling my old Fanatec stuff after an upgrade. Thought I'd offer it up here. Could do a discount if someone wanted a few things. I'm on the Central Coast near Gosford. Guessing posting would cost too much.

Hardware & Reviews / Fanatec CSL DD Bundle« on: June 15, 2023, 05:26:36 PM »
This is a pretty good deal
https://fanatec.com/au-en/detail/index/sArticle/1789 Cheaper than the base + boost kit on its own which I was planning to get, so I just got myself a free rim and pedals. Guess I'll probably sell them with my old base! 3
General Discussion / Virtual Pinball Cabinet« on: November 23, 2022, 01:46:07 PM »
I had some spare monitors and an old work PC lying around so I decided to try and build a virtual pinball cabinet. I'd never done any woodwork before but I'd watched a few videos and thought I'd give it a go.
I learnt how to use sketchup to do a cad drawing of what I wanted based on dimensions of a real pinball machine but slightly adjusted to fit the screens I had. I then took that cad drawing and created a cut-plan, ordered a few cheap tools and some wood and started. Here's a few pics of the first 3 weeks build. Got a lot done already but still a lot more to go! Work will likely slow down now that its actually playable 4
Hardware & Reviews / Fanatec Wheel Wall Mount« on: July 12, 2022, 12:53:11 PM »
Recently got myself a 3D printer so have been playing around learning how to use it. One of the things I printed was a quick release wall mount so I can put the wheel I'm not using on the wall rather than have it under the seat out of the way

Cars & Bikes / RC« on: February 24, 2022, 09:00:19 AM »
I got into RC recently after getting a Traxxas Slash for my birthday in January. Since then I bought a TRX-4 Sport crawler which I bought as a kit and built myself. Some local guys race RC F1 cars nearby so I went down at the weekend to scope it out and one of the guys let me drive their car for a bit. Was so awesome I came home and ordered everything to make my own Reminded me a bit of starting sim racing and trying not to be lapped because the F1 cars are something different and require a lot of practise.
Here's some pics of the TRX-4 build. RC cars have come a long way since I was a kid! 6
Hardware & Reviews / Upgrades« on: January 19, 2021, 10:18:47 PM »
Here's the reason for some of my tech issues today.
My old motherboard had a broken top PCI socket and couldn't use the bottom one due to headers. I was using a 3rd party vertical GPU mount, but things were getting a little warm with the 3090 so I got a new motherboard to try the GPU horizonal, and while I was at it I got a new case and some more RGB bling 7
Hardware & Reviews / For sale: RTX 2070 Super« on: December 18, 2020, 12:54:17 PM »
Selling my 2070 super if anyone is interested.
I have it up on Gumtree for $650 based on ebay sold prices, but could probably do a little XGN discount. 8

Hardware & Reviews / New Monitor« on: November 06, 2019, 03:27:18 PM »
Just picked up my new monitor for non sim racing gaming. Box ended up being a bit bigger than anticipated If I knew I'd have had it redelivered instead of picking it up.

General Discussion / Fortnite Battle Royale« on: January 29, 2018, 07:51:16 PM »
Been playing this game the last few days and it's a lot of fun. 100 player battle royale a bit like PUBG but with a more cartoon arcade feel and you build forts to protect yourself.
It's FREEEEEEE which is the best part! https://www.epicgames.com/fortnite/en-US/buy-now/battle-royale 15
Hardware & Reviews / New case and cooling« on: December 06, 2017, 11:44:11 AM »
I built my PC on a budget with a mini tower and in the summer months it does get pretty toasty when gaming. Decided to get a bigger case with better airflow as an xmas present to myself, but unfortunately I'm a sucker for gimmicks and the more I looked into it the more dollars I spent haha.
This is my old case as I started pulling its guts out: Ended up buying all this. Oops... And some pictures of it all together: Totally unnecessary but awesome. You can change all the colours and effects on the lighting. This video is 'Spectrum Wave' which looks pretty cool. The photos/video don't do the colours justice though. |
