The Long Tail also takes a while to refuel, but the Short Tail takes longer, so I'll just uncork it a little. « Last Edit: November 28, 2018, 07:41:32 AM by Wally » Logged “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time” Bird Administrator Hero Member Posts: 2324 Karma: -666 Ysu Re: S25R4: Los Angeles Times/Ford Grand Prix at Riverside Long « Reply #3 on: November 28, 2018, 08:57:54 AM » Quote from: RussG on November 28, 2018, 12:06:19 AMQuote from: Wally on November 27, 2018, 10:55:47 PMThe following drivers have a 15 second post-race time penalty:FreezerBacchulumRussGHahah - all Short Tail drivers.I don't have a penalty Quote from: Wally on November 28, 2018, 07:32:59 AMYeah, I expect this track will suit the straight line speed of the Mercs again.Looking at the last round's results, the lap times were pretty equal across the makes, but I might lower the Short Tail ballast just a little to compensate for the longer refuelling times. I've a tingling feeling these cars are well balanced for long races w/o messing with ballast & restrictors - the quicker times of the short tail are offset enough by the straight-line speed & slow refill at pit stop & extra fuel usage, probably. Maybe more than enough with 2 stops... « Last Edit: November 28, 2018, 09:05:45 AM by Bird » Logged Freezer RestrictedRacing Hero Member Posts: 1296 Karma: 33 Re: S25R4: Los Angeles Times/Ford Grand Prix at Riverside Long « Reply #4 on: November 28, 2018, 03:24:45 PM » Quote from: Wally on November 28, 2018, 07:32:59 AMLooking at the last round's results, the lap times were pretty equal across the makes, but I might lower the Short Tail ballast just a little to compensate for the longer refuelling times. A Merc catching a shorty will simply drive past it on the next straight and not much can be done about it. Whereas a shorty catching a Merc in the bends is a whole different situation and often leads to being slowed and/or a high risk pass. That means it can probably just do it on one stop if my calculator is correct. Two stops - not a problem. By my maths and testing, they should be roughly on a par with the Long Tails for overall race duration once you factor in lap times and pit stop durations.Mazdas and Mercs are still doing their own thing, with their own set of swings and roundabouts.
