Title: XGN 'Club Racers'
Post by: Seanus on March 11, 2022, 09:32:52 PM
A grand idea bound to never come to fruition as most things born of a late night on the turps.

With no timetable but bound to be completed exactly at the moment we abandon AC for something else(although that's not even on the radar yet).

XGN Club Racing: As if we all owned our own club car in the real world but set within the virtual world and limits of AC.

Each member picks a car they love or would like to own for real and have a version done for AC.

Aiming for club level performance, think shitbox or similar, cars fast enough to see 200 km/hr but not 300 km/hr, probably only tintops.

Each car with custom physics aiming to keep everything within the same performance envelope.

Not a single season idea, but something to evolve as (mostly I) mod the cars and physics and others supply requests, skins etc and feedback.

For example Rooshooter might chose the Civic RS, I might choose a Toyota KE20 SR5, as I had one in real life,(however there ain't one available for AC).

As well as testing by myself and others the odd Fun Run even Triple Header 'mini seasons' or the end of year dead zone etc.

Let's see if we can't get some momentum going?

Great idea Seanus, and a much needed distraction in these troubled times :).
I would be more than happy with the Civic RS, I bet Wally will pick the Lada ;D.
The fact that we can even consider doing this is amazing in itself, the benefit of having our own resident modder 8) 8) 8).

I'd like my car, can you put a Subaru badge on a GT86? 8)

Heavily W.I.P.

Nissan is mine, Mini or Honda could be Roo's, BRZ is Bacchulum's, and Lada is Wally's

You can have your own version of any of these cars or indeed any other by request(subject to availability).

Good start Seanus, I think I will go with the Civic , I will attempt a skin if it is possible. I want to add this to front doors , bonnet and boot.

A 3.5 litre V6 Nissan VQ35 unit producing 480 bhp would require the car to carry enough ballast to weigh about 1920kg.    ;D ;D ;D
Maybe a 1600cc turbo from one of the Peugeot rally cars would be more like it.

See Civic post above for the skinning files and latest car.
Car is separate to the current Civic, with control tyres and some ballast to bring it line with other Members cars.

What about this beast!   I owned a 1976 Gemini two door back in the day.  This the Opel as I can't find
the Holden version.  The S2 version looks best.

In a fit of pique I have removed the Nissan GT-R, Peugeot 504, and Lada, declaring them too old.  :-[

Sweet spot is now between the late '70s and now. :o

Mini Classic and Civic RS have gone up a weight class as well.  >:(
