Do you intend to award points for DNFs during the season as well? You really don't want to be in Guy's car, do you. Yeah, sadly that'd be the strongest selection criteria...TBH I'm not quite sold on this whole bonus point scheme. I think I'll just say "fuck it" to the championship and have fun racing, I feel it's getting too complicated, and a lot of luck will be involved (ie not being in the same car the fast guys have selected / being on one that slower guys have selected)p.s. it was good fun last night with the different cars and all « Last Edit: March 11, 2015, 11:22:42 AM by Bird » Logged Wobblyone Jr. Member Posts: 186 Karma: 2 Adrenalin is brown... Re: Mar 10: Season 6 Car Testing « Reply #62 on: March 11, 2015, 11:19:58 AM » Yea after seeing guy drive the m3 I thought I'd try it...it's a lot slower for me at present but never driven it before in this sim, but has a huge amount of setup options..didn't realise tbh...I think it's going to be a hard car to drive fast and need a lot of setup but if u get it right put the time in I think could be a great choice if u have the skill to tame it. I always loved the m3 in touring car legends for R factor it was a real giant killer...it's a interesting concept this class I like it...still don't know how wally and u guys drive the soggy 458 so fast lol. But say Guy & Marty & maybe Stan in the same car...phew. And then whoever else is in that car will be seething about losing all the bonus points. It's all a game of luck. No luck involved. No luck involved. But that's exactly my point: w/o this bonus-point scheme we'd be right there; select the car you're comfortable with and drive it fast. No luck involved Don't take me wrong, I applaud that you try to create all sorts of balancing things, however, I feel this time too much luck is involved. I'll shut up now. Logged Perch Newbie Posts: 47 Karma: 1 Re: Mar 10: Season 6 Car Testing « Reply #68 on: March 11, 2015, 05:17:06 PM » Quote from: Guybrush Threepwood on March 11, 2015, 04:29:54 PMWould it be just as effective if the bonus points remained the same throughout the season for each car?Only if the pecking order between the cars remains the same for all circuits throughout the season. If the Bimmer is suddenly a beast at one of the circuits then it'd be a bit unfair to give it an ever bigger advantage in that race, for example. Looking at the circuits I highly doubt that'll happen but even so. I'm not entirely convinced about the whole thing balancing out either but we can only see how it goes. As long as you get to have some fun dices with like minded drivers who gives a stuff Logged Guybrush Threepwood Hero Member Posts: 2133 Karma: 69 Re: Mar 10: Season 6 Car Testing « Reply #69 on: March 11, 2015, 05:32:18 PM » It might be fun though trying to pick a car based on the upcoming tracks + points. I thought that was the idea to begin with. Logged Wobblyone Jr. Member Posts: 186 Karma: 2 Adrenalin is brown... It's to reward those in a slower car. Ask yourself, what's a slower car? How do you work that out? Different drivers, different tracks...
