Optimal tyre pressures are 33/33.

Server's up.

hey Wally, can you add me to the server, or is it too much of a pain in the arse? I forgot to sign up.

No worries, I'll add you.

Thanks Wally, sorry about that.

Results are up. Joe wins the round, which featured some excellent close racing.

You missed out Bacchulum :P

These cars were not too bad. First crack at both with the cars and this track during practice so with little to no knowledge of either I didn’t play much with the set up, just wings and tyre pressure. Got the tyre pressure wrong in race 1 but then got it right for races two and three and the difference was massive! I really like how these cars have 100% brake which makes them rather tricky to stop but also provide an opportunity for mistakes. I spent a lot of the last two races duelling with Wally who ultimately came home with the chocolates but the most enjoyable part of the night was following Joe going around the outside of another car under braking into turn 1, and then driving about 1/2 a lap side by side. It’s just a shame the numbers are low because I think these would a lot of fun with a big grid.

:'( :'(
It doesn't look like google can help me, I found links to CSL Elite wheels but none of them are the same as mine.
It looks like it's been deleted from history...... ???
The only solution I can come up with is extreme and will be irreversible.
I'm considering using Loctite 406 to basically jam it into a permanently ON position.
If it doesn't work, the wheel will be garbage........

Is it a switch that's broke? Surely you can replace it, or can't you figure out how to dismantle for access?

Is this the problem Bacchulum?

I found that info roo, but that's a different wheel to mine, mine seems to be a prototype (it doesn't have the detachable/replaceable wheel rim and different buttons).
Plus, it's a mechanical failure, the ratchet system that holds it "on" has failed.
It is the switch doobs, but I can't source a like-for-like, which might explain why they didn't use it in the production run of the wheel base.
-
Can you permanently bypass the switch, and just solder the connection? My wheels have always been permanently on.
-
I reckon I'd do less damage with the loctite, my soldering skills suck.

Improve your skills and fix it. :) Have you got a pic, maybe someone could come up with a lateral thinking solution that might prevent your extreme fix?
How can it not be fixed with gaff or a zip tie? That's unpossible.
I hope you get it fixed.
-
If you need to keep your finger on it, I'd hot glue a paddle pop stick over it with something behind it to apply the pressure to the button, rather than fill the button. It's easier to remove and you should be able to fix it eventually when you find a button replacement.
-
I filled the gap between the button and the housing with 406 (industrial super glue) and backed that up with gaffa tape.
If that fails, I'll use Wally's suggestion and just completely remove the switch and hard-wire it permanently on.
Hopefully all this is temporary, I'm working on a budget for a replacement, CSL DD, but that may take some time to accrue.

The Gaff will not fail. Hope it stays solid for you, because these cars aren't bad to drive... I still cannot drive them. :)

We need picture of a Rube Goldberg machine type contraption to fix the problem. Maybe a automaton powered by the sound of a engine starting? :P
