Understand, there would be nothing more humiliating than having a humpy out strip the WRX!  :P

But as to your new track car, the Spitfire range is limited and of course pricey... I am sure you will find something knowing your resourcefulness.

I would like to have entered int he AROC Valantine's Day run at Sandown, but that is pushing it a bit with other things to do and going on holidays in March...

So May 9th may be me....

Hmmmm yes I reckon Aroca would not have had to much competition from other car clubs booking that day  ;D

Now, forget Triumph altogether (parts are hard to come by and I don't want a 2 seater) but another clue........

The name "GT" remains on the horizon  :-X

The RACV Great Australian Rally is on the 18th of Jan. I shall be doing some research their.

Now the guessing begins...

okay you would like a Toyota 2000 GT but, may be out of the equation...
Falcon GT... same
Hillman GT... none in Aus that I have seen...
Golf GT...
Renault GT...
Corti GT, hmmm

OK you haven't thought of it because it is small and well... slow and only has half your cylinder preference....

Well well well, I had thought of the MGB GT but ignored it... well there are some nice 'survivor' ones around, and development has been extenisive... nice choice.

Just looking at the moment, might take 12 months to find something decent.

ahh "apricot suits you"...

lot of those pesky MGs there!  I looks as if it was a pleasant day, and as you said plenty of antique cars to interest everyone too.

Apricot?

Actually there was a much bigger variety of cars their, mostly British but some yank tank to, the penrite tent had all the ex race cars which they would fire up every hour so.. A very nice racing Daytona looked a million dollars.

They are a groovy looking car. Its got a bit of Bog, so it's no concours car, mainly to level out some bumps and rust repairs. I have all the photo's of the body at various stages before it was painted. 78 photos to be exact  :o Interior needs doing, and it's been sitting for 5 years. Floor needs a bit of repair but luckily on passenger side away from all the fuel/brake lines. Needs new rubber in doors etc. Bit of work to be done. Curious to see what head is on it, hopefully a big valve head from the 72 to 74 model, these were popular for obvious reasons.

Hmmmmm motor shot, here we are.

Good to see it had all the right  bits and not stuffed about.
The floors will be easy enough to do especially if your not after concourse.
I see the last owner had trouble counting to 4 ;D
