I saw cramjet have a massive warp but only once maybe his ping went up, timing screens are a bit odd as its hard to even see how many are in the server at times. Many more shown on map then in the timing, pitstops are basic I also got in there and took a while to figure out what to do.

Yep I saw this too. Only time you got in front of me. At least that's how I'll remember it. Strange though - my girlfriend wasn't home!

Everything looks and feels really good on Marty's server. I haven't seen any cars warp around - very smooth.

I've tried a few different cars/tracks. The standard e30 m3 around the new hill climb is quite fun.

Marty I was right behind you for one of those - to me it looked like the other guy kept moving over on you. Could be bent steering or something but it didn't seem entirely unintentional from where I was.

I see two sides to the argument - either you want an hour of sunlight at 5am so you can get up and do things/work earlier (tradies, farmers, Dick's 'ladies' in Northbridge), or you prefer that hour in the evening which gives regular city slickers more sunlight after work. There's no right or wrong answer, it just depends on the population.

Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: Redress
« on: October 08, 2014, 11:47:18 AM »
How open to interpretation is this? With my hit on Bird last night I did hold back afterwards, losing about 5 positions. Rejoined with Bird just behind and as soon as he got close to me I lifted and got off line. I reckon if I redressed immediately I'd have caused another big accident as the remainder from the t2 incident came through...I would have been in the way.

Is that sorta thing okay? Or do you strictly want us hanging on the side of the track until they turn around and get going?

35
Bird, sorry bout that t3 incident - I came fairly cautiously through the big wreck at t2, looked behind me for a second and arrived at t3 a lot earlier than expected and somewhat out of control. No excuse, just a silly accident. I did hold back for a bit and finally gave the place up when you caught up.

Also it's clear us west aussies aren't capable of dealing with day light savings (or lack of?). The mrs and I had a long confusing chat and figured out the race would start an hour later here...I log in for an early practice to find the first race just about finished. That stuff is confusing mayn. Why can't we join the rest of the world!?

Racing was otherwise fun. Had a good battle with Gratulin in race 3 - sorry about the bump, I was trying to avoid the crash up ahead without giving away too much  :-*

I always struggle to find pace around Silverstone without downforce. I'm a bit better at Imola so hoping to claw back some points next round for CramDick Racing!

I'll make this weeks race. Should I go in the car I last raced (1m) or what I was assigned last (elise s2)?

edit: I can see I've got the s2 on the practice server - hooray! ::)

37
I may or may not make this race tonight. Some family crap has popped up and not sure I'll be in the right head space although a good race might take my mind of things! Hope to see you guys there - sorry if I'm not!

38
I deliberately drove around at 90% throttle last night to make sure I would be slowest.  ???
I feel like I am responsible for everyones car selection next week! lol

Grats to Wally for putting Guybrush in a Z4

Grats to my team mate Cramjet. We are 3rd on team standings.... ok fine two races in.... shut up Marty!

Would have been an even better result if I didn't run us both off in that last race!

Last night was the most fun I've had in any racing sim. The field was so bunched up you'd go from one battle to the next - it was great fun holding onto the back of a lotus through the bends before gunning it past 2 or 3 of them down the back straight :D The different way each car put down a lap makes for some awesome racing.

Assetto Corsa / Re: Computer upgrades..

PLE is great - I've always bought my parts from them. I actually doubt they would give you grief blaming other parts - they can test any piece quite quickly to identify a fault. I had a faulty RAM stick from them (1 of 4), took it in and they replaced it without even testing it.

I just recently upgraded my CPU and Motherboard - not sure on exact specs but its one of the better i5's. They were the last pieces to be upgraded and made a huge difference in AC (GPU, SSD and RAM done last xmas). If you haven't got a SSD they are great for putting windows/steam on to help with loading times. Leave media/photos and junk on an older HDD.

PLE's just opened a store in Melbourne so maybe y'all will hear about it soon.

Just managed a low 1:42 in the 1m. Made a couple mistakes and was only on my 4th or 5th lap around here :D I know this car turns into an absolute pig through the bends with lower grip though so not sure how I'll go.

Sorry about my short run. Had a few friends who wanted to watch me race but it ended up being horribly distracting which is why I went from qualifying 3rd to finishing 13th or so. Also taking strong flu meds and drinking beers didnt help I'm sure.

I found some pace in the 1m, but its no lotus through the corners. Makes for good racing having the different cars though - looking forward to next season!

Glad to hear you went okay Dick, it ain't CramDick racing without ya!

42
I'm in. I'll do what ever it takes, even if it means ramming Guybrush and Marty off the track due to dizziness. I'll be there.

Yay! We missed your banter last race... I was worried for a bit there, but CramDick Racing lives on :D

Put me down too Wally!

Thursday Nights fun racing / Re: Round 2: August 28th Goodwood
« on: August 29, 2014, 04:36:55 PM »
Fairly disappointing my lag knocked me out again - this is the one car I'm competitive in. Dick must be hogging all W.A's bandwidth with his 'videos'.

First race I had a good battle with Peter and Bird - would have won it if I didn't have a HUGE spike as I went around the last corner - sending me to the grass as I tried to avoid hitting anyone. Brought it home for a disappointing (!) 3rd. 2nd race I got pole or 2nd and then took the lead into first corner. When I saw Dick's car jump in front of me thanks to lag I figured it best to quit in a giant ball of rage.

I really enjoyed this car/track combo - once you learn where to push (or not to push in this car) it's heaps of fun. Hopefully next week will be better lag wise - strange how Tuesday's are normally fine for me, save for when the mrs is doing her lesson plans (youtubing), but Thursdays have been consistently worse.

I didn't set a decent qualy in the first race so started 12th or so. Made it up to 7th or so in the first couple laps and then had a good battle with Gratulin - I felt like I caught up through the twisties thanks to  my super high downforce but even if I was right on his sphincter leading onto a straight he seemed to pull away (or atleast out run my draft) once we grabbed 6th gear. I didn't want to ruin either of our races so didn't make any big moves. Made for many laps of tight racing :D

Second was much the same except I qualified 4th. Coming out of the first corner Bird in front of me had a spin and I couldn't avoid it without hitting someone else so I made a juicy t-bone out of him. My tyres turned to jelly around lap 11 (fronts 93ish, rear 90) - it felt like driving the cobra. I had a terrible lap adjusting to it which is when Gratulin flew past again but the next lap his too fell off the cliff. We had a great battle for the line, both sliding all over the place. I saw he had a funny line around the final corner so set myself up for a good exit resulting in a drag for the line. Probably one of the most enjoyable races I've had - thanks Gratulin!
