I think I understand your point about the feel and immersion and about making the game true to the way you perceive your own driving limits due to fear etc. However, I believe that this is relative to the individual and any changes made will reflect that person's experience. For example because you have had the good fortune of driving a race car on track, you have the perception of to little grip in AC because you were driving within a car's limits in real life. If you were even more fortunate to drive a car on track more often, your confidence may grow, therefore you will be going closer to the car's limits making AC more realistic (or closer to your reality) because your experience has broadened.

So what I'm saying is that if changes are being made they will likely reflect a person's experience. The only way, for me at least, to keep it 'real' is to have that 'mathematical' accuracy that AC currently provides. Your experience for example does not match mine (I haven't driven a race car on track) nor will it match the experience that Marty may have (I think he has often). I believe that this is what 'simcade' tries to emulate.

I agree. Some races go your way and some don't.

For me race 1 went my way. Started mid pack and managed to clear any accidents and settled in to keep Steve from overtaking me. Fortunate in the end because he was faster. Got lucky last lap with a few offs handing me a couple of extra positions by the end of it.

Race 2 unfortunately did not go my way. Had to back off to avoid tapping Bird and got tapped myself by Steve, going from 2nd to 16th I think on lap 1. Kudos to Steve for the redress but it was just a racing incident, so easy come, easy go. Struggled a bit for the rest of the race but happy with the night over all.

Thanks Wally.

Remember to go easy on each other though. Accidents do happen.

Could tie different sized bricks to steering wheels.

Top 12 sounds good. Like Dick, I wouldn't want to be up front with a full reverse grid either. It also leaves some incentive for the mid pack guys to aim for a higher finish at the end of the season. Still benefits 12th and up but a reasonable compromise at least. Makes you work harder for that last spot during quali.

Just a question regarding the reverse grid format.

Say for example in the up coming season where there are 24 cars, if you manage to qualify in 13th, 14th or 15th you may realistically be able to compete for a positions in the lower parts of the top twelve. However, in the second race you'll be placed at the back of the grid and the chances of achieving a similar result may be pretty low. Could this then affect how the middle of the table's standings be at the end of the season? Could it end up relegating a racer to competing only with the second half of the field over the course of a season?

Sorry if this has already been discussed or if I'm missing the point.

Cheers
