Assetto Corsa / Re: [TUTORIAL] Running your own Assetto Corsa Server« on: July 25, 2014, 11:18:36 AM »
Thanks. Seems a bit silly that it doesn't log the results in a file like every other sim.

What's the best way to get a race result off the server? Does it get written to a file or do you have to connect to the web interface?
The result file on the client side is always incomplete. 18

Found for the new non-booking server mode you need to create an entry list without driver names. When people join they get assigned the next one available. Could be used to enforce a mixed grid by limiting the number of entries per car.

Thanks for the racing guys, and thanks Wally for running it all
I got lucky in both races last night, managing to miss the crashes at the start of both races while Guy and Glen appeared to get caught up in both. If I'd taken the short gear set I probably would have been in the middle of them as well. Overall the series was a bit of a mixed bag for me. Some races were good fun, but others got too mixed up by the mix of cars which neutered the potential for close competition somewhat. Hopefully we'll be able to do weight penalties in future. 21

It's going to be hard getting mixed in with DTM's around here so I predict Glen ftw. I gave up too many points with 2 shitty results last week.

Apparently slipstreaming will be in the July 18th build, and yes it was pretty boring around Silverstone Int in the Fabarth last night.
Low revs, low speeds and a well planted car isn't very exhilarating. Need reverse grids or something 23

I looked into the launch parameters someone mentioned on ts last night. Turns out they're actually for arma/dayz and don't do anything for AC. Confirmed by a developer.

Re: L49
It puts more emphasis on the driver, requiring a soft touch on the inputs and a smooth, flowing driving style. You also need to plan your corners a bit further in advance with the way you can drift it into the turns. Because of that it's one of the most rewarding cars when you get the hang of it, and one of the most fun to drive. 25
Assetto Corsa / Re: Poll: Car for season 2« on: July 01, 2014, 02:19:24 PM »It's the car setup that takes all the time. Especially when you're not completely experienced with it like me and for some things it's a bit of trial-and-error.That's why I voted for the L49. It requires the least setup work from week to week With the other cars you can blow an hour or 2 each week just testing different downforce levels. 26

There's a multiplayer bug in this update which has disabled car collisions. Hope they get that fixed before Tuesday

Australian Assetto Corsa League, Tuesday nights / Re: Round 2: Silverstone International Chat« on: June 18, 2014, 04:59:00 PM »Q2: Managed to go a bit quicker again and grab 4th on the grid but this was to no avail as for some reason the game would only start me in the pits.I think what happened to me was I either hit esc and back to pits out of habit just after the session changed, or I did it as it was changing. I normally make sure I've loaded my race setup before the end of qual because some open servers have a very short time between sessions. You don't get to finish a lap if the time runs out during it, so may as well use that time to get yourself ready. If you jump straight in car and forget to check your fuel level I guess you're screwed. 29

First race didn't go to plan. I was surprised to be 2nd on the grid but knew it wouldn't last long given how close a few DTM cars were behind. I lowered my pressures because it seemed to work out better in practice, but in the race it made me slow in the fast turns. I had a couple bingles with Guybrush then we ran nose to tail for the rest of the race. I couldn't do anything at the end because my rears had melted.
2nd race went better despite having my wheel off center at the start. Thanks for the warning whoever that was. I rotated my wheel but didn't find the stop so I just went with it. With the rift on I can't see my wheel well enough to sort that out quickly. I didn't get a clear run in qual but I had a good first couple laps getting me up to 3rd. Guybrush got held up by a DTM so I had a clear run to the finish. 30

You could also try Open Broadcaster Software. It's designed for streaming to twitch etc, but you can also stream to a file. I've only tried it with iRacing but it didn't seem to impact my frame rates.
