Hey Guys I just got home and have made some server updates, seems the latest acserver.exe wasn't running on the server. I will update stracker when I can get the latest build to DL but the link just keeps cutting out on me. MR has been updated now too so possibly servers will run better but I haven't gone online yet. No idea if my pc is still crashing and nothing I can do about it til after Tuesday anyway so if it is I will need to miss the next round too.

Thanks Marty. There must have been a minor server update. I had it running after last Tuesday's race.

I ran a few laps on the server, was very warpy. I cant download the latest stracker or ptracker updates for some reason those links just keep failing for me. Also while I was away someone attempted to get into my steam account, my gmail and also quite likely into the server so I have again locked RDP to my IP only for now to see if this could be causing some of the warping.

I will restart all in the morning but at least my computer wasn't crashing over a few laps but the warping especially on someone joining was worse then last build. I have now gone to stable builds of stracker as I cant get experimental builds anymore from his site, I will probably need a new server IP again too as the regular pest is probably doing his thing with the server as it is.

The ghost of Winky!!  >:(

I doubt thats where its from lol, surely he is over his issues by now and also the funny thing is that the old blacklist is no longer used. Server just has MR filtering now with only a few people on an actual blacklist. Practice server is open to ABCN grades so only D and W get left out.

The reason for not being able to get stracker ptracker experimental builds last night Neys sent me a pm saying he has been under DDoS attack a fair bit amd getting hit hard atm.

Minorating has also had regular attacks so it just seems some people have issues with AC in general and do their best to make it a little worse for everyone trying to improve things and in the end the entire community. Pretty big aholes whoever is doing this really and they clearly have too much time on their hands.

I never actually thought anyone would waist their time with something so trivial.  I mean what satisfaction can these idiots actually derive from it?  May as well steal a lollipop from a baby and be proud of it.

iRacing responsible... now that IS a conspiracy theory!

I had a go at updating the servers with the latest MR while you were away Marty but I just couldn't get my head around it following Minolin's instructions and I didn't want to wreck anything.  I'm not sure if he has contacted you, but I'll see if he can add you to the conversation in the AC forums.

I did get added to that conversation today, had a quick read and will need to take another look tomorrow as I will be home during the day and I too was lost on the first look lol. I will try sort it out then, the local mr auth should solve the warp issues I noticed last nite when anyone joined the server.

I will also need to try some things to help protect the server a bit better suggested by Rolz. The server has been getting a bit hit with extra bandwidth even when not really getting much use. This is the main reason I cut the hz rate down to 10 as its costing about another $10 per month just in excess bandwidth beyond the already prepaid server costs.

Yep, no issues with AC here.  In fact I haven't seen any artifacting for a while so that has been fixed and very little stutter.   Only warping has been due to Minorating as far as I can tell.

I must admit I'm really having trouble putting together a clean lap in this car... Admittedly I do attempt it after a few beers so that's probably not doing me any favours!

Still, I might start at the back to prevent taking out other ppl... well I'll be forced to if I can't even put down a qualifying time!!  :P

It's certainly a fun car to drive, but it shows me that I still have a lot to learn when driving  :o

Same here, the length of the lap and morphine are not helping me, but I hope to okay for at least one race and keep off the fences... is it possible to turn the damage down Wally? None of us are going to exploit it.

I've noticed a love tap in this car doesn't seem to impact top end speed like it did in the M4 last week...
Or maybe I haven't been able to get to the straight without already being banged up and not knowing what the top speed is!!  :P

Yeah. With ADSL you need to know your distance from the exchange to determine what speed you SHOULD be getting. Without that number you cannot properly hassle Telstra to fix the problem. If you are getting the correct speed based on distance to the exchange then there is nothing you can do about. Especially now that the "nbn" has turned to s**t. Except for Bird, of course, who is sitting pretty with his damn FTTP :D

Post by: Wally on December 08, 2015, 10:30:36 PM
Both races were pretty intense for me. I was the busiest in both races, and it felt like it. I constantly had cars around me.

In race 1, I had an off and smacked the wall, leaving Rolz nowhere to go as I was trying to regain control. After that I lost some top speed and was a sitting duck on the straight.

On the first lap of race 2, I was stuck behind Dave O. On that fast section half way through, I had more speed, and tried to pass Dave on the left, but hit the kerb and it jumped me car over to the other side. Thankfully I somehow didn't take out Dave, but let a few cars through in the process.

Then on the last lap a lot of us came across Marty's car packed sideways across the track after his PC crashed, which was "interesting" to see coming around the corner. I missed him, but went onto the grass to avoid him and I think I scraped the armco a bit more. I was chasing the wounded Stan on the final lap, thinking I'd have him on the straight, but it was not to be, with him holding me off.

The racing was very good in these cars. They have a lot of movement in them, but still feel pretty balanced and stable.

Was fun to get back into some racings, race 1 having only done a couple laps in practice I was quite a bit off GB's pace. He did brush a wall but I still lost time over the last 2 laps.

Race 2 was fun getting through the pack, Nords isn't an easy place to pass but its kind of doable and this was fun going from last to 3rd. Then GB caught up and he managed to get both me and freezer at the end of lap 1 as I was also trying to pass freezer. I then got by him and kind of was hanging on to GB making some tiny gains and my pc screen blackout came back again needing me to force close the game and race over again. I still doubt I would have made the ground up on GB but racing from the back at Nords was a blast and more fun then race 1 just seeing that slowly shrinking car get away slowly.

Post by: Bruce on December 09, 2015, 08:38:42 AM
My racing from the back of the pack was less exciting, but happy to pick up a PB.
I attempted to stay right to let the faster ones through and caught some grass and found myself on the armco, could have gone on but stupidly remembered medication, got that, put in my PB gaining time on lap 3 but, not able to outrun the clock.
my left arm felt like a taxi driver's on a 12 hour shift! hehehe
Enjoyed this car, even without GB's good setup, fun to drive and forgiving at times... see you next week.

A night of the bronze for me, a pair of 3rds at the green hells!!
Fun car to drive, pretty forgiving and predictable. As usual at the Nords, it was all about damage management.
Good nights racing.  :P

Sorry guys, but it seems for me it was a tad too late - I was very tired and felt I'll just ruin the races further for you guys if I stay.
I was ok in the practice around 7:30, but by the race start I was shot.

Race 1 I was pulling away when I crashed on lap 2.  Weird crash as I did everything the same as I normally do but all of a sudden it was like the back end hit a bump and skipped across the track.  Anyway, kept going and managed just to hold a little gap to Marty.

Race 2 was good fun following Marty through the pack at the start.  I came up to Marty and Freezer on the long back straight and managed to overtake them around the outside of the left kink while on the grass!  Not the kind you smoke though.  I was keeping an eye on Marty in my mirror when all of a sudden I heard a shriek and then other people moaning.  I checked that my internet browser was closed from my pre-race routine and then realised Marty was gone so trundled around to the finish.

Good night in all.  And I didn't touch my fuel this time!
