I'd love to try the Toyota Celica ST185 however if they've got too much grip on the Tarmac then they wouldn't be a lot of fun. I wonder if there are any rally cross styled tracks out there which would suit these ? It's a shame there isn't a Subaru 22B

hi there,
I've been running in the Thursday night runs spasmodically and now I'm wanting to get back into Tuesday night racing and was wondering if there are any pre-race requirements in terms of patches/addins, etc required to join the grid?
cheers,
Bradc.

Yeah likewise, really enjoyed these cars. Good call to stretch their legs a little with the banked turn too.

Did see some of the cars ahead jump 10 feet in the air and leave their wheels on the ground in the banked turn?

I saw cars leaping vertically between the 2nd and 3rd chicane but it didn't seem to happen when following another car closely...bit strange really
edit - I just saw there was an update for this track released Monday and I wonder if this addresses this problem...

I think I've worked out what was going on. It appears I was not up to speed with the update to Assetto Corsa where they moved the forcefeedback from the options pages in the controller settings to a short cut when you are inside in the car.

These cars were awesome, I really enjoyed the way these old cars moved around and the track was rather cool too.

Awesome looking track, it looks a lot like something I raced a few years ago in rfactor

thanks for the ideas, I'm currently downloading the track again, so hopefully that will fix it. I will also look at the settings if this does not fix the problem. The weird thing is that it doesn't matter which car I try they all have the same fault and it's only on this 1 circuit, so I have to assume there is a bug or something strange in there. I do wonder if it's because I'm using an OSW wheel perhaps this could be the problem as I had to create a custom profile in the game.....
many thanks,
bradc.

hi all, i was having a go at this track tonight and i am having problems with my force feedback. For some strange reason when on the track the wheel is fighting to turn right and yet when on the grass it behaves perfectly. So far I've tested several different cars and it seems to be only this track where i have this issue and i was wondering if anyone was experiencing the same and if so, if they knew of a fix?
cheers,
Brad.

I have just been reading my way through all the post of this thread and I think it's a great idea, something I'd love to be a part of now that I think I have my screaming headset problem sorted. The idea of endurance racing in GT cars with a decent level of damage is great as it forces people to drive for the conditions and their place in the race, which makes it more realistic. The one thing I couldn't find was when such an event might be run....

thanks for the reply's,

Marty, the problem is that for some reason the mic's levels change without warning, usually meaning that my voice becomes screaming level and there is so much feedback/squelch that it destroy's people's ears - think the feedback noise but with the volume on 11/10ths!

Sadly this occurs regardless of setting in TS3 and the only consistent thing I can work out is the more you use TS the quicker it happens, even when no adjustments are being made. Unfortunately, in other applications the headset/mic work extremely well and are extremely impressive! There is defiantly some sort of argument going on between TS3 and the Corsair drivers. So far, I've found on Google about this but no resolutions and sadly Corsair have ignored questions about it from early January from other users. I have contacted them, but no losing sleep about a response as they've already taken my $$$ and technically the product works, it's just TS3 which has issues.

cheers,
Bradc.

Thursday Nights fun racing / Teamspeak Headsets

Hi all, I'm just wondering if members could recommend a good USB headset/mic which is compatible with Teamspeak? So far I've found out the expensive way that Corsair products are incomparable with Teamspeak and I'd love to know what people use as it would be nice to be able to use the chat service without destroying other people's ears.
Cheers in advance,
Bradc.

I know I should be happy as this was one of my best runs thus far, but I'm grumpy. A front row start and ran most of the race in 2nd would be considered awesome on any other night. I couldn't catch that GT40 and I'm sure Tom had more in it if required as even when I did pb after pd, the gap never really changed, so congratulations to you. Whilst not wanting to be a bad sport, I'm still shitty about the 11th hour rule change removing the compulsory stop. I don't have a problem with such a change, more the timing. I'd done my practice with the compulsory stop in mind and had no idea what fuel I needed when I heard the news after the qualifying session. As I said, no problems with the "what", just the "when".

After taking my now noncompulsary stop around lap 9, I was driving far too angry and in my haste to try and make up the 39 seconds to get back my 2nd place I pushed too hard and understeered into some weeds and had a massive crash. With two laps to run, I had no hope of catching anyone so conceded that 5th was the best. Oh what could have been, but that's racing.

Overall I'm rather pleased to have a decent crack after nearly two years in hibination. I know this is a fun run series and for the greater part it has been, so one must accept the last minutes changes as the greater good for the greater numbers. I hold no malace towards anyone but would ask that perhaps in the next season, could we avoid making race changes so close to the race. Oh and if anyone is interested, I think I've found the cause of my Teamspeak problem. Apparently Teamspeak and Corsair devices don't like each other so I guess I need to buy another USB headset before the next series.

Thanks again,
Bradc.

I just booted my pc and I see there is a further update to this which has just started downloading. Not sure what it is yet as I don't know where the change list is. It something to be mindful of on a race night....

I had a run around here last night and for a fantasy track it's rather nice, good elevation changes and lots of bumps to throw you into the weeds if you try to drive arcade style.  Could be a real challenge to last the 40 minutes if damage was on.

Apologies for the sound - it's beyond my control and certainly not intentional.

First race my old Logitech USB headset/mic died and so upon the advice of a tech friend I bought a Corsair Gaming VOID 7.1 and team speak doesn't seem to like it, perhaps it's just too new for the aging teamspeak? I don't know why this is happening because I can set it up, test and everything is fine. Then for no reason I get absued because something has changed by itself during a race! I've also noticed that when this happens in testing I need to use different settings to get It working again, however there is no consistency in which setting make my headset every time. For teamspeak it appears to be more random in terms of which settings it wants to use.

I've since tried my headset in other games and even used it with Skype and there are not the problems here like with team speak. I can't but think it's a team speak problem. I noticed this morning there is an update for team speak and I will try that, but I don't know what else I am supposed to do as teamspeak gives no warning or indication as to why it chooses to go mental and I don't know how to replicate the problem outside of a race night so I can try to find a fix. As teamspeak is a requirement of racing I will need to work out a solution before racing again.

Just a final question. Does AC have its own radio software like iracing?
