Thanks. Have fun :)

I'll be there thanks Wally.

Is it 'barth time already? :P

Maybe you could invite the creator of the track Wally, seeing as he is an Aussie - well, Tasmanian anyway. Close enough?

Good idea, it would be a hoot for him I'm sure.
Invitation sent.

Yea would be nice to have Rainey in on the race, he is a pretty quick bugger too. ;D

I think I have finally figured you out bird, you dont like any car that isnt an f40. ;D

Sounds like fun. The latest version of Baskerville looks great.
Question - if us "slow guys" come upon a "fast guy" do we just run them off the road? ;D >:( 8)
-
Because this is a fixed grid for this fun run (see the first post), don't forget to tell me if you're on the list but you're not going to race, or also if you're not there but would like to be.

I'd like to participate if a spot becomes available.

OK, come on the night if you don't definitely get on the grid, because there will probably be some no shows and I can put you in for one of them.

I thought I was getting PC slow downs with this combo. :(
Turns out it's just the cars that are slow. ;D
(it was just after testing the Exos though :P)

-

First time on track tonight... yes I did some cheeky practice, but I need it! :P
Did a few laps in both tonight and the Abarth was about a second faster for me...
I did start in the Alfa first and did about 17 laps then drove the Abarth... dunno if it was because the Abarth was a manual but it was more a more enjoyable drive...
Alfa has only street tires where Abarth you get semi-slick option.
Not a wide road and blind corners will make the race very interesting indeed tomorrow! ;D
-
It will be interesting having the field split in the two cars broadly by driver speed too, I reckon.
-
Isnt one of the Alfas a manual car but other then that they seem pretty much the same, Any chance we could run the one with a shifter on the nite. Still guys not shifting can paddle but I much prefer manual for these little cars.
I checked a couple tracks in RSR and the 2 are are near identical in lap times with only .1 to .2 between them at all tracks I checked. Maybe guys that use a shifter can get the manual version and those that paddle get the other one just in case paddles are slower in the manual one.
-
The new version of the Alfa has paddles, but yes, we can use the shifter version (for everyone). It's more fun.
-
Don't think I will make this one tonight guys . . . so feel free to give away my spot.
See you next week.....

Here are some Race Results (http://xgnassettocorsa.blogspot.com/2015/01/fun-run-abarth-and-alfa-at-baskerville.html).
Well done to Rolz and Guybrush on the wins!
-
Good fun I enjoyed the last race most starting from the back, had some nice clean racing with everyone sneaking back into 3rd but Guy starting also at the back got the win and had the clear pace over everyone on the night as per standard operating procedure.
Race 1 I didnt like the Alpha too much just needs a bit more front end grip or a bit less in the rear, mine was very pushy. Im sure the car is done well but I prefer the more pointy Abarth between the 2.
Race 2 I mostly followed an ever shrinking Threepwood after a bit of action early so mostly a hotlap session.

Top night, thanks all! ;D
Race 1 - I honestly did a Bradbury... Guy and Bacchulum took each other out and I ended up being 2nd behind Marty... I have yet to move to the next level of driving before I come close to being able to pass, but I was able to stick relatively close... Then I think with 3 laps to go Marty just went wide I zipped past... pretty stoked.
Race 2 - Had a shocker of a first corner, bumped into Marty (all my fault) and spun all the way to last... got back to 9th, but those Abarth's just didn't have the oomph down the straights for me... I would catch the Alpha's, but then on the straights they would pull away...
Race 3 - well that was just wait for Guy to catch and pass... I was pretty consistent in the 1.13's every lap and I just see Guy doing 1.12 so it was only a matter of time.
Car choice for me was the Alfa over the Abarth... Abarth's arse would slide out too much for me... maybe my driving didn't like the higher pressure in the back. Plus I prefered the slightly more speed on the straight for the Alfa
Cheers!

Both the old and new sigs are impressive hahah, that is one crazy vid!
A couple turned up at the NY's day hot rod get together is a late model Robin, one with a targa roof and no doors!
-
Enjoyed the racing in both of the cars, in this form... "slower cars", I get more out of it, having a few duels a little door rubbing.
-
You had some good pace there Rolz, well done. You took some catching.
Race 1 I got a little tap from behind and went spinning but was kind of fun coming back through the pack. Although I quickly learnt that you got a cut warning if you went wide on the last corner even though 2 wwheels are on the track. I ended up getting a penalty with this combined with the earlier shunt but didn't take it because it was a fun race and would just have meant driving around on my own without really making a different one way or the other.
Race 2 was good in the little Abarth. It was certainly more nimble than the Alpha although something abouttthe way the Alpha was I didn't mind... Maybe the speed. Anyway got a little tap at the rear at the start of the race which made my back red with damage even though it was a fairly innocuous bump. But I aftertthat kept going to the finish. I still think damage is too inconsistent and unrealistic in AC
Race 3 I started from the back and the first few laps were fun getting through traffic. Then I was just trying to catch Role and managed to sneak by with a lap or two to go.
It was a fun little track in these and a bit more technical then you think - especially that blind left hander.
-
Yeah last night was plenty fun and for some reason I was doing better in the Abarth.
I remember chasing Wally for ages and waiting for a mistake, I knew I couldn't catch up without one, and when he finally did make a boo boo I went in too hard and drove off the track.
But overall a very enjoyable night of racing and can't wait for next week.
Edit: Wally I only just noticed the Blog you have, wow it's really impressive. I really like the circle showing the race positions.
-
It's been there for ages, Phil. Worth a look! You can expand a racers laps too by clicking on their name.
-
Crap i forgot about this lol
-
It was a bit of fun for something different. FWD's are a different beast to drive.
I preferred the stability of the Alfa in the end.
