Good first race of the season! Was tough to drag myself away from the beers before the race, but this morning I'm definitely better off for it :P

R1 - Got a good qual and just maintained a good pace, certainly was ronry there for a bit :)
R2 - starting from the inside is a disadvantage on this track, lost a spot in the first few corners then just couldn't catch it back... was smashing out awesome times but so was everyone else. Nice pass on the outside for Stan got me at the end...

Top evening and from what I could tell our cleanest start to the season...

The time and effort in car setup and practice here paid off.

Congrats to the winners and hope all starting off their first season enjoyed it!  ;D

I agree Rolz, great first race of the season, excellent driving standards from what I saw.

I done gots a winned I did!!!

Race 1, sitting behind Marty for the last minute soft tyre dash in qually, managed to get pole by a tiny bee's penus, awesome fun.
Got a great start and ended up with Marty catching me and GB a little ways back in 3rd. After the pits, Marty got gazumped and so I ended up with GB on my bumper... he got level with me a few times but I was lucky enough to hold him off and I gots a winned!!! Very happy wid dat!!

Race 2, stuffed up qually (decided to come in for some softs but way too late in the session) so started 8th I think. Settled in and had some schweet racing with Phil and Wally (very tight!!). Then at the end I managed to steal 5th spot off Rolz  :D

Excelllent start to the season!! Love the GT3's!!!
 :-X ;D :-X

tough start to the season for the sls crew, car just didnt work around siliverstone with no front end grip we were pretty much driving it moto gp styles  to get it turned lol, never drove a car so hard for so little result so hopefully thats our bad round behind us and we make progress for the future races, plus silverstone is a bit of a bogey track for me anyway so heres hoping its a one off lol.

do you even motorsports?

Is there no bonus points for fastest lap in race? I guess the late soft run strategy was useless then in race 2.  ;D

Maybe GB got the race 1 fastest lap though but I didnt realize it was that big a points gap between first and second, I better get me some wins,

Sadly, no, Marty. It went out the window since we're scoring it like the Australian GT3 series.

Here are the SEASON STATS.

I like the points systems with the larger gaps between positions.  It means people have a better chance of climbing the championship table if they have more than one bad race.  I also think that most series who do this have been around long enough to know a thing or two :)

We still have our worst round dropped though Wally?

I was just thinking about that. They don't in real life... but then they also don't have jobs that call them away on Tuesday nights, hey? I think we'll keep it, so everyone can miss one round without screwing up their season chances.

Fair enough that strategy sucked anyway and wont be re used in the kitty machine again this season.

The larger points gaps are fine just hoping you dont win all the races GB as then we are all fooked, I was kind of hoping not to loose that many points by getting 3rd and 2nd but guy had 1st and 2nd and luckily stayed on the meds through qualy while most weened themselves off them.

By reading peoples' reports it sounds like there was competitive racing all the way through the field, which is great to hear.  :D
