Hardware & Reviews / Re: 85" 7752 x 1440 48:9 Hyperwide Monitor

So where is the link to the monitor?  I want to salivate :)

p.s. little personal rant:
These aspect ratios are doing my head in.  What bonehead thinks hey, let's not do 45:9  (aka 5:1) ratio, put 48 on it, so you can't easily express it.   Fuckers.

Well I had done the gpu upgrade several months ago (3070) so maybe the old mb/cpu wasn't allowing the gpu to perform as it should.
Ah mate that's guaranteed.  The 3070 is one mighty beast.

But could it also be part of the equation that the physics need to be calculated for every frame?  I.e. without that, there's no next frame, regardless how powerful your gfx card might be....

Are you sure, Bacchulum?

I reckon ARBs are to prevent roll.   A flat, rigid car is less prone to roll (stability) and easier to change direction with - but I've always found the softer end to have more grip.

The weight transfer is a trickier thing; it'll depend on other things as well, probably.  But what's 100% certain is that the rigid setup transfers forces ("weight") quicker to the outside; there's less delay coming from the softness of the suspension.

This is probably where the funny comes in; in a completely rigid setup (imagine a block of stone) the transfer is immediate.  But we often think weight=mass, however these things are talking about forces, not mass.  And springs are a sinkhole for forces; they are an energy storage device to some extent.  (compress it; you have stored energy you can get back by releasing the pressure).

But on the other hand, excessive body roll will probably move the center of gravity - and that can have all sorts effects, depending how/where it moves.

Very nice driving, mate.  It's so much harder to get consistent fast laps out IRL!  But a lot more fun.

....I don't heel 'n toe in my real car, does anyone?...

Lotus Exige.   My business partner got one (the flat 4), with a supercharger upgrade ; it's a sub-4s mental machine.
And you are dead slow unless you're heel-toeing, which is fine on the street.  But on the track you're out in the green stuff in no time if you are pushing it without heel-toe :)

p.s. I can't properly drive it; I can't heel-toe.  My mate can heel-toe, however he can't properly drive, hehe.

Jealous Joe? ;D. Nice one Bird AMD or Intel?
Intel 10700, I've had a couple of bad runs with AMD stuff in the past, I'll wait a bit more before I dare change.

I've got a new one, too.  Altho in hindsight what for did I get a 3070 card I've no idea, but it runs RDR2 damn well in 4k I tells ya :)

Looks like xmas, too, hehe.

I'd not do it for any money.

I'd throw up in my helmet every time so badly I'd not be able to finish 2 laps.  And I'd feel absolute shit for days.

Btw, big kudos to the safety; just seen news of this insane crash.   The guy walks away with burns to his hand that's all.   He fucking went through the barrier.  Mental.
