Some SOCAL metal
« on: December 05, 2013, 12:03:50 PM »
I have the chance to get to 2 events here in California.  My wife is re-living her youth being dragged around swap meets.. HAHA
I haven't got to indexing these individually yet, you know how it is being a "kept man", time just seems to disappear, suddenly time to hit the pool again, no time to keep you in touch  :-*

Hopefully this will work...

Bo Huff's Car Show, featured some good rockabilly bands at one end of the event and some good blues at the other end.  Vintage air craft rides around the Riverside airstrip, yep the Riverside that you have run races in in GTLegends and rFactor. (the main car track is now ashopping mall).
These were some of the cars in the "Corral" for sale, we got that section late.
Got a desperately needed "flattop haircut" from one of the vendors, came home with some good NOS old clothes and happy.
Part 2 coming, Longbeach Performance Swap meet.

Hey who's cruisin' in a Chrysler Challenger R/T?  8)

Also made it to the Longbeach Performance swap meet, came away with a nice set of period under dash gauges for the Comet, plenty of great cars. Here is a small sample of the corral…

Off to the MoonEyes Xmas Drags and hotrod event on this coming Saturday.  It is just as well I got information from some of the hotrod forums, if your not in by 7am, YOUR NOT IN! My wife couldn't understand letting herself be dragged around a swap meeting last week and now to heading off at 5am to ensure we're not too lat to get in.  :o

Not sure why you would need a bomb proof wagon in Aliso Viejo, but some one does!
I have been told it was a new Ford 350 completely remade with "bomb proof" in  mind.  ::)

Went to the Mooneyes Xmas Drags this morning with great expectations. The cars entered were great al though the number were down due to the weather.

The last video shows the cars string to line up as the track dried, but it then rained for hours... :'(

The Military 324 complete with helmut and machine guns certainly looked the part.

The longhair shop hot rod, a V6 running single barrel carbs, 6 of em, is that a late model motor or did they start making V6's way earlier than I thought?

I have a feeling that a few of us would have had one of these if we were in the right place at the right time. ..

Great piece of advertising.
