Title: Anyone Getting Fly-Screen Effect?
Post by: Guybrush Threepwood on September 20, 2014, 01:28:10 PM
As of today some track elements such as 3D grass, grid lines and tyre marks have a fly-screen effect.  Is anyone else seeing this?

Here are pics of what I'm talking about:

I dont get that but I remember someone mentioned that a while ago on the official forum, dont remember what caused it or if he fixed it. Think it was something to do with the speed hacks as they hadent been updated to the latest builds at the time.  ;D

Edit found this link where it describes what causes this.

In the first pic, the 'fly wire' thing on the right at the edge of the track is a cyclone fence. .. :)

I've never noticed that. Try validating your steam files.

And yes Marty, you got me.

Thanks for that helpful link Marty. I also found a few more answers here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrBj3u5dPgM

I tried the integrity check which was OK.  Tried adjusting the filtering and post-processing but still the same :(

Did you change anything in your gpu settings? Maybe a different AA setting ingame or driver I will try to find the page where I saw another guy mentioned it.

I was surprised thats what caused the issue for those people.

Interesting, I can barely see anything.  If you can see it while driving, you're spending too much time gawking at stuff IMO :)

Enlarge the picture to twice the size and it becomes obvious.  It looks terrible when you are in motion as it seems to stand out a lot more as an un-natural track element.  The grid lines aren't particularly noticeable, but the tyre marks and the grass stand out like dogs balls.

Sorted it out Guybrush?
Nvidia? They released new drivers the other day. That might help?

Thanks Dick but they don't seem to work with my Radeon 7970.  Stupid bloody Nvidia crap.
