Title: Elkhurst Lake Pre-Race
Post by: humper on February 16, 2014, 01:31:37 PM
Oh boy. Steer clear of the gravel traps boys! (the car sinks in up to the door handles)

BTW I'm getting a mismatch "70_firebird.hdv" is my only coarse of action to re-install mod? Ta

PS. 2.47.xx in the cudda (still driving around the track lost...)

WOW, what a tough track!!

I tried a few laps in the 1970 Camaro, i couldn't even finish a lap!! I gave up after about 15 minutes of not being able to complete 1 clean lap.

I had a break for a while then retried in the Cuda, wow what i difference, the Camaro must be the worst suited car for that track, the Cuda felt like it was on rails compared to the Camaro. I did a high 2.42, but most of the laps were about 2-3 seconds slower.

Like Humper said, beware of the sand traps, they are lethal, so is the jump on the front straight  :o

Just did a few laps in the big purple Bird and got a 2:42.2 just as I ran out of fuel heading onto the line. UI'm happy

Yep a little tougher to learn, but still SLOW IN :)  And yep those sand traps are bad so maybe a 3 sprinter, so if someone does fall foul of a trap at least it too disappointing.

I went the short 3 race option, I wont turn a lap until just before hand, with it being such a long track.......I'm in training to beat Jeff to last this week  ;D

I haven't even had any iRace time yet   :(

Haha, doesn't instill much enthusiasm :)  The Wisconsin sounds very conservative.
