A bit lonely in the middle, but then Bueller hunted me down.Race 2 was . I got hit in the rear at turn 1 and sent flying. Last. Half a lap later, I got caught up in DaveO's spin back onto track, where his car went slowly thisaway and then janked thataway, with me hitting him under brakes and hitting the wall. Last again. That didn't put me in a good frame of mind. Then all by myself I had a few offs over the rest of the race, ending up with broken steering for the last few laps, being lapped. Not putting too much pressure on myself helps me to be a little more consistent even though still a fair bit off front runner pace.R1. Starting from the back so to not unintentionally upset potential champs and just get out there and have fun. Traffic was a bit tuff at first and gave AB1 or Able a tap on the rear, no incident but got a little damage, sorry for that. Some major stutters occurring for me which stopped in the next race after closing FANALAB Software, I was using only for added light effects on the wheel (traction, pit, flags), needs optimisation I guess. Caught up with Wally only to go off on the last turn looking at the dash, checking to see if was the last lap.R2. Excellent race AGK on my tail the whole time and getting on the tail of a couple others was awesome, caught up with Phil but had no chance of passing.Good fun, curb hopping and sliding around thanks guys. « Last Edit: October 09, 2019, 08:34:30 AM by buellersdayoff » Logged Joe Hero Member Posts: 2368 Karma: 39 Re: S30R2 - Road Atlanta 2018 « Reply #20 on: October 09, 2019, 09:05:03 AM » Two 3rds for me.. why did Matthew have to come back I could do close to kcender pace in practise on the odd lap on the edge but doing that pace consistently in a race requires some skills I don't have.Race one about a 2 to 3 sec gap to Matthew all race with us both on a similar pace. Race two a similar story but much closer though no real opportunities to pass. The high ping and car moving around did make me nervous; was a point I probably could have passed when we hit a back marker on the final turn but didn't want to risk a warp and not finishing at all. Good fun though. He cost me a position. Both races went the same for me. Decided to go with SS as I could not stop the front from locking up with the harder compound, and needed the extra grip to keep up with the other drivers. What I did not expect was the benefit of the starting line. If there was space to pass I would have been in the lead before T1! From there just tried to hang on to the end, race 1 Jeremy kept me company but with only the 9th fastest lap I was quite happy with a 5th place. Not sure what happened to Jeremy in race two but he's troubles meant a 4th position for me Team mate should be back next week, meaning team Maki will dominate again.
