Hi guys. Hoping you can help. I posted this in the AC forums as well:
Ever since the last update (which has been a while) everything has looked incredibly bright on track. I have tried all the different PP effects but it makes no difference. I am running an AMD 7970 with the latest drivers and Windows 7. It's the default time of day in game which I think is 2:00pm?
It's a little weird in that if I sit there for a little bit the screen will gradually dim, but otherwise it seems to be always so bright it's almost unplayable around certain sections of tracks like Spa.
Here are a couple of links to screenshots using the default PP effects:

Switch off the post processing. It does not make it look better anyway.

I reckon PP makes the game look heaps better. Did you give mine a go? You can adjust the overall brightness with these lines:
MAX=1.2 ; max auto exposure
TARGET=0.35 ; target average brigthness that auto exp is trying to achieve (0 -> 1)
Try playing with reducing those two numbers.

I did try yours Wally but it was even brighter.
I might try altering some of the values. You'd think it would just work as it should though, I wonder why my game is so different.

have you done something to your video card game profile for assetto corsa and given it like heaps of gamma or contrast or something
-
I wouldn't know how to do that.
It's been like it ever since the last AC update.

I've got an AMD R9 card driving triple screens and turn off PP because it also looks too bright on any of the profiles. Sounds like it might be the AMD drivers. It looks great without PP anyway so not a problem for me.

Cant you just hold page down til the exposure is ok, page up to get brighter down to get darker.
-
It resets every time you go back to the pits. . I've adjusted the PPE file as Wally said which makes it a lot better. Also turned off crap rays.

For me adjuating brightness stay until I end the sessiom or leave the server. Quite oftennits too beight sonInjus page down at start and dont need to again unless I leave the server.

Got a reply from Kunos who said that the exposure has been fixed for the upcoming release - 1.2

Hi GB,
On certain tracks it's also really bright for me as well.
What I do that help and I still don't know how or why it improves things, is pressing "alt-esc" when I'm just about to drive out of the pits.
It seems to fix the brightness every time for me.
HTH ;D

On tuesday nites what works best for me is pressing alt f4 just as the lights come on. It fixes the exposure issues a treat too so give that a go. But you cant try it any other time as it wont work and may cause you to crash to desktop of the light sequence has not yet begun. Once the lights come up alt f4 fixes exposure and activates launch control. I really shouldnt be giving all my tricks away but Im feeling generous today. ;D
